Interestingly, Andy Reid threw short passes in lieu of running the ball in PHI. But, he started to wise up and run more, especially in KC. I hope the Nagy learns the lesson sooner than Reid did.

You would think he would have already after the playoff loss where he stopped using Hunt in 2nd half. I remember people trying to claim Reid took back over the O to try and give Nagy a pass.

Nagy needs to put his best players on the field and draw up plays for them to succeed instead of trying to draw up the “perfect” play call every play.

Beyond the QB, the most important players on offense, IMO, are Robinson, Miller, Cohen, and Montgomery. The bears, without a single doubt, need to feature Mont. That’s a fact. After him, they need a heavy dose of A.Rob and Miller. How could you not find targets for that guy? He was open so much last year and didn’t get s chance a lot of the time.

Then after those 3, you start to draw up the gadget plays with Cohen, Patterson. You could mix in Burton, Wimsy, and Gabriel. But after you establish Mont and your 2 best receivers. I like mixing it up, but you have to start by going to your best players until proven ineffective.

Yeah really not that complicated. Give your best guys like 75% of the snaps and work in the others to spell them or when the game is already in hand.

David is a nice jack of all trades but he should not be getting carries unless Monty is fatigued. Cohen is clearly more of a receiver but you have to find a way to get him around 100 carries on the season just to offer a different look to what Monty and Davis provide.

Patterson should never have been signed. Said it at the time and will say it again. 5 million for a KR, 4th RB and 6th WR is just a luxury we did not need.

We are in trouble.

They had 9 months to get some of this stuff ironed out. 275 days and now we expect them in 10 days to fix all these issues that they couldn't over 9 months.

Run the ball and play your best guys. This is more a problem of Nagy's ego so easy to fix if he would just take a look in the mirror.

Cousins looks like hes throwing wounded ducks. But the defense commits their eyes to reading the backfield for an extra second. Freezing the field for an entire second on passing plays.

PA passes that turn into screens. WRs getting easily vertical because stopping the run is now priority 1.

21 points by cousins. One of the leagues worst last year. Why? 130 yards rushing in the first half! Full Backs!

Linebackers simply arent used to this style anymore.

By the time the bears figure out this trend it will be too late.

Please football gods don't let this be a M.Trestman thing all over again.

I liked because I agree with your sentiment here, but you do realize that if this is a "M. Trestman thing" all over again it would simultaneously be a "P. Emery thing" all over again too right? Will your health be ok if true?

Also good posting remy.

Like Bearly, I am not glad we lost but I see what you mean.

To the meatballs trying to kill remy for being glad for the loss, he obviously wanted a win but if the Bears were to be that bad, you don't want to win while also having no lessons learned by the coaching staff as they are lostin the ecstasy of pulling the W out.

Straightforward really.

That's what the media said so who are we to know if it's true or not that he took over the play calling? We don't know, all we can do is see/hear what the media says and decide if we wanna believe or not. Never heard Reid or Nagy say it so who knows.

Ummmmmm nice reach job there but there's absolutely no comparison in what Emery did in his time with the Bears to what R.Pace has done but again....nice reach job....lol

Nagy actually said it was him that called all the plays so he took the blame..

If Nagy shits the bed like Trestman did, Pace will be gone. No reach there. Just facts; it's the way the NFL works.

But I suspect it won't get that bad. I honestly think Nagy will do what remy said: adjust himself and do better from here with moments where he shows his nature and loses or barely gets away with it.

I do think he should of let him kick the 51 yarder but i'm over that because we wouldn't of won the game if we kicked that field goal and another one. Lets also not act like anythong in the 50's is a gimmee for any kicker but it still would of been nice if he would shown some confidence in his kicker and give some confidence to his kicker by letting him try it. Now if he would of let him try it and Piniero missed then that could hurt Piniero's confidence so again i'm over that choice of not letting him kick and more about stopping trying all the trick plays so much and trying to let every damn offensive player on that 53 get on the field.

My biggest problem is the complete stupidity of the decision. I mean if you want to protect your young kicker from a long kick until he gets some more experience then thats fine.. (but it begs the question on why you didnt give him opportunities to gain experience in the pre season) But the stupid part was the 4th and 10.. I mean if it was 4th and 2 or 3 then sure.. But a 4th and 10?? punt the fucking ball if you dont want to go for a FG!

Just stupid decisions on Nagy

Nagy was starting to believe his own press about his genius. Last year Nagy routinely abandoned the run and mismanaged his personnel. Most just overlooked it because we kept winning and as a result, Nagy was never forced to actually fix these issues. This loss occurred early in the season in front of the whole world and as a result I think Nagy will be forced to address these glaring issues that he otherwise would have allowed to linger while homer Bear fans praised him and complained about anyone being critical of him. Those issues are as follows:

1. Run Game - What we saw yesterday is what Nagy wants from his offense. Versatile RBs so he can use short passes in lieu of runs because deep down he doesn't like running. If we had won yesterday Nagy would have continued to throw to RBs in lieu of running only for it to backfire on us in a critical moment. Consider that more passes were thrown to RBs (ie 16) than rushes (12). This is the price of having a versatile back in Nagy's offense. Everyone talked about how Howard was a relic of the past but that relic forced Nagy to run. If his grand experiment had worked last night, he would surely have continued to minimize the run. Now after this embarrassment, there is hope he recommits to the run and maybe Bears fans will understand that there is a role for a more traditional RB if only to keep the pass happy coach honest.

2. Smartest Guy in Room syndrome - Another element of Nagy's game is his penchant for trick plays, gadgets and the desire to outsmart the opponent. Sometimes you have to trust you guys to simply execute a standard play but far too often Nagy replaces trust in his places for thinking he can outsmart the opponent. This was no more apparent by the fact that the Packers were in nickel for damn near the entire game and Nagy still managed to call 48 runs and 12 rushes. We had sets that had 3 RBs and 2 TEs and the Pack still played nickel. And yet Nagy chose to eschew common sense which would dictate running in those formations because in his heart of heart he thinks he is smarter than everyone and so could still win by throwing into the strength of the D. Now he has egg on his face and perhaps will go with conventional wisdom next time.

3. I have so many toys that I don't know what to do with them - This is another Nagy hallmark. In many respects it worked quite a bit last year with all his personnel groupings but the Bears are talented enough for their 3rd best RB, 4th best RB, and 5th or 6th best WR to consistently beat the other teams top guys. The fact that Davis and Patterson were allowed to play so much is a testament to Nagy's hubris. The fact that Davis played 40 fucking snaps and Patterson 20 is damn near criminal. Monty meanwhile played 27 snaps. Listen Nagy, this is the NFL. Teams generally win by relying on their best players. Sure it is cool and cute to bring in your OL to catch a pass but the fact this bozo thought moving Sowell to TE full time was smart just goes to show his infatuation with his toys and that infatuation blew up in his face with the useless Patterson and the boring Davis.

4. The Parkey Factor - Perhaps the biggest play of the season will be the disaster that was the 4th and 10 play. If Eddy has any balls, he would walk into Nagy's office and tell him that if Nagy ever pulls that shit again, he won't have to cut Eddy because he will quit the team right after kicking Nagy in the ass. We get it last year's loss was tough but Nagy has turned into a coward when it comes to the kicking game. The 8 player tryout and the refusal to allow Pineiro to take standard kicks in preseason and now the regular season speaks of a man still suffering from PTSD from the Parkey mass. After the embarrassing 4th down play, hopefully Nagy mans the **** up and lets Pineiro sink or swim.

5. The Mitch factor - I am glad people saw the truth about Mitch which is that he still has a long ways to go. I think ultimately he will be fine over the course of the season just like last year but he too seemed to be starting to believe all the hype by irrational Bears, More importantly Nagy seemed to be believing too as how else do you explain throwing 45 times in a 10-3 game. This game is wake up call that Mitch needs to be managed because he is more Dak Prescott than he is Pat Mahommes right now. And you know what that is fine. You can win a lot of games with the Bears D, a focus on the run game and a QB that throws 20-25 times a game. Hopefully Nagy and fans got it out of their heads about the Bears running some new age pass happy offense with running backs sprinting down the field to catch passes instead of run the ball. What this team needs is something in the neighborhood of a 55-45 pass run ration not the 80-20 ratio last night.

Nailed it.

hahahaha so if that's facts then there's no doubt about it that you are either Ted Phillips, Virginia McCaskey or George McCaskey so which one is it? Now it's a FACT that the only people that would know that FACT you threw out there would be one of or all of those 3. Gets your FACTS straight, or understand what a FACT is...LOL

Nagy could shit the bed and Pace still wouldn't get fired, Nagy and Trubisky could shit the bed and still R.Pace would not get fired.

Now get that Remy brown off your nose and go look up facts.

I also thought his reasoning was very odd that his ST coach (C.Tabor) gives him a limit for Piniero by how he kicks in pregame warm ups. I wonder if that's something that other teams do but it sure sounds stupid to me. The kid hit from 58 in preseason and is known for a strong leg but C.Tabor told his limit is 50 yards or something under 51. Sounds stupid to me.

Nagy said he called plays. Bears homers then claimed he was covering for Reid. Think the truth is pretty clear.

"Remy brown"? Me? Are you high?

You are so terrible at posting here, you almost make me wish Nagy shits the bed and Pace gets fired for hiring him after the Fox hire.

But that's the "Joker" in me. The part that wants to watch you burn in flames. My inner Batman reminds me I love the Bears and wants them to fricking win the Super Bowl and that is greater and far more meaningful to me than your dumb ass being proven dumb.

Just watched the condensed version of the game and I will begin by saying I think our Defense is top notch, and I did not see much that concerned me at all.

Now on the Offense, it appears that Trubisky was under pressure up the middle a lot and it caused issues. Additionally, Mitch had some moments when he was feeling pressure that was not there.

I know Daniels is a better snapper, but if he continues to get owned in the middle then they might need to think about getting him some help (FB) or a change back to Whitehair at Center.

I'm ok with a rotation of RBs, but I agree that Montgomery needs more touches. We did not have any big runs in the running game, and Nagy might have gone away from it too often (short yardage situations).

We have come out flat two years in a row, maybe we need to play more in the Preseason. I know Nagy tried to run simulated games in practice, but it is just not the same.

After watching this game and other games around the League, we need to take some deep shots. It needs to be early in the game, because teams are beginning to game plan that we will not threaten deep. I know Trubisky has not been very good with the deep passes, but we must show that we are willing to take an early shot, and do not completely abandon it.

This "TD to check down" mentality that Nagy speaks of does not seem to be something that Trubisky or Nagy are willing to actually execute. If this means that they have a play that forces the long throw, then so be it.

Found it Remy, it wasn't in the pace picked the wrong QB but there was a link in that thread to here

So yeah Mitch and Prescott was a great take by you
