This thread is classic.

Ive been IF’ing for 3 years and plan on doing it forever. It works like any diet that helps put you in a caloric deficit but for me the most important part is it is sustainable and fits in my lifestyle perfectly. It’s effortless and enjoyable which makes it sustainable. I saw someone talking about this crash diet he does when he needs to lose some lbs but it’s miserable. WTF is the purpose of that? To look good for one event and go off the deep end. If it’s not sustainable for you, you will always regress to where you started (or worse) which is a waste.

No doubt. I've tried a few things, but eating throughout the day always works best for me. I hate being hungry because I tend to overeat that way. As long as I'm not eating junk food, I'm fine. Lost 50 lbs doing it that way along with working out. Focusing on it again to get my weight back down some.

The Ketosis way is all about satiating and suppressing hunger. Like you, I loved bread too. That was one of the hardest parts. Still have some here and there but it’s very limited, less than once a week at this point. A lot of the other food you mentioned in a previous post would actually fit in well.

The most daunting part is, no doubt, cutting down to less than 20 carbs a day. The average person consumes 250g of carbs per day so it’s a huge difference. It’s also why 7 out of 10 people are overweight.

Also hard to consume all that fat. A 2000 calorie diet would call for about 155g of fat and around 100g protein. The protein is no problem. It’s actually the fat number people have the most problem with. The best way is with the oils because it’s cleaner than eating fatty meats and foods. A couple of teaspoons of coconut oil gets you a quick 28g. A nice big salad with 2 tbsp of olive oil or avocado oil gets you another 28g. Just eating 1 avocado can give you close to 30g. Putting just 1tbsp real butter on your veggies can add another 12 or so. Putting a couple tbsp thick cream in your coffee or tea adds another 10. That’s over 100g of fat already, leaving just 50 or so that you’ll easily get from eggs and meat that you eat.

Carbs are evil cause they basically lack nutrition and they spike sugar levels causing more hunger which is why people overeat. Healthiest populations do not get that way by eating carbs, I assure you. They also don't follow the typical American meal plan. They will take in their biggest meal at lunch time rather than dinner.

I wish I knew, way back when, what I know now. It would have been much easier, healthier and kept away the aches and pains that come as we age. It was always easy for me to lose weight which is why I never worried about adding 20 pounds post summer. It just didn't seem like 20 pounds was a big deal and I could always take it off quickly because I knew the two main things I'd have to give up in order to drop the weight fast. It was bread and sweet drinks cause that's where I got most of my carbs from. Then I just combined that with a 20-30 minute HIIT type thing.

If you think about it, it's pretty easy to see why so many people are fat. Everything has been geared to make them that way with the overly processed foods made to taste good rather than be nutritious, a plethora of sweetened drinks, some even disguised as healthy drinks and, of course, fast food everywhere. Most people's main problem with carbs is the same as I mentioned for myself in the past, bread and sweet drinks. It's basically all these fast food places are selling, cheap pieces of meat thrown on cheap buns, all of which are as bad or worse than white bread. You might as well put your hand in a bag of sugar and grab a fist full to throw down your throat. Then of course it's topped off with a soda. Then, after all that sugar, people wonder why they're hungry again in another couple of hours. You get sugar and no nutrition. Spiking the insulin levels make you hungry, it's scientific fact.

Eating more fat, that actually is nutritious and good for your body, is going to make you full and keep you satiated for a much longer time. If you're satiated for a longer period of time, you obviously are eating less. It's very easy to eat a lot of carbs cause the junk food and drinks don't fill you. You cannot overeat fats cause you're going to be too full especially after eating 70-80% of your total calories in fat.

healthiest population still be eating mostly carbs...i be think youre confusing murica with them.......also acting like other countries who be skinny on avg dont eat a lot.. you can take the japanese philosophy/stereotype that they eat to 70-80% full all ye want..but ive known some big eating japanese peeps who be boney as ****.......but besides them, ye ever been to some other SE ASIAN country... them fucks eat alot when they eat.. well the one who can afford it....... they just eat different to duh murican or westerner as u be kind of wrongly pointed out.....they eat more whole unprocessed foods....... the muricans jacked up on processed n dat syrup.. that syrup shit is in everythang... even the meats they be eating was fed dat shit..

its not carbs, fat, suga alone.. its a combo of carbs, fats, suga, processed etc... i know how i gained the majority of me weight over the last decade...and it wasnt from overeating but what i was eating when i be drank.... mainly it be alcohol + fat + processed bs + no vitamins.. dem empty cals n sugars combined with high fat non nutritious foods... me body burned the alcohols n dem sugars n empty cals first n stored the oils n other fats fer later. but i never burned those stored fats.. i drank mo and mo later instead and kept stacking n building the keg.... i drank a lot over the last decade... the ultimate beer belly i be gots...

Sugar is and always will be the enemy. It's in the bread, the junk food and the drinks. You can get some nutrition from fruits but fruits are not the carbs people are overeating.

And please point me to this healthiest population living on carbs. Link?

da gym may not be possible while im the low man on duh totem pole if i want a reg routine.. may need to wait on it until i work me way up a tad.. maybe 6-12 months... there be two departments and each department does tons of shit.. so besides whatever hours ill be get fer each department..... i'll also be on call fer both and doubles/splits etc aint out of the question.. especially since they work on the 24/7 365 schedule.. or ill just have to fit the gym in where i can and accept not getting in to a routine... at least the gym be 24/7 too though... but thats still a future plan... n i still got me shit here..

I was eating 2 tbsps of coconut oil per day. Lost about a 1lb or 2 in a few days but I realized it's cause I weighed myself in the morning naked and I was dehydrated cause too much coconut oil makes you shit like crazy. natural laxative. RIP my bowels.

moving down to 1 tbsp per day now.

In the past I have noticed when I weigh myself in the morning I'm always 1-2 pounds lighter than I was at the end of the night prior. That's just a normal thing.

If Coconut oil makes you shit like crazy, I wouldn't try that MCT oil that I mentioned prior cause it's the part of the coconut oil that boosts the fat burning and leads to that. Coconut oil doesn't have that affect on me but MCT oil has.

Again, in regards to the taste of coconut oil, I was just in Brooklyn for a couple days and there was a Trader Joe's a block over from our hotel where I got the packets.

They actually do taste somewhat better than what I'm used to and don't have the aftertaste. Easy to take straight for me with these. I think the reasoning would be it's just fresher.

I remember talking to a woman, who drank a lot of coconut water, a while back. I said I've bought the coconut water a few times but it doesn't taste very good at all. She said if you got the water from the actual coconut yourself you'd notice the water always tastes a bit different and the young coconuts are going to give you much better tasting water.

Yeah, actually suppose to keep carbs below 20g. That's the hardest part to get used to. You can easily exceed that with 1 beverage or even 1 sandwich alone. A lot of people use stevia to sweeten up a drink or smoothie and lettuce wraps for sandwiches.

I work at Coke where they shove that shit in your face all day. I hate coffee so I always woke up with a Monster Juice Drink (which is actually less sugar than 1 12oz coke) and then had a coke later in the day. Not to mention the sweets too. Favorite foods are pizza, pasta, and potatoes and haven't had any in over 1 month. I figure I'll be down another 20lbs by October, if not sooner. I drink those PruvIt powdered drinks twice a day and they dont give you that sugar crash.

I don't necessarily think eating 3 meals a day leads to being fat but eating a lot of carbs during those meals and even between them certainly does. The body can only handle so many carbs at once, the excess is stored as fat. And if eating high fat, low carbs, you won't be near as hungry between meals.

I've not taken any ketosis supplements. They're all bs and extremely overpriced. You'll get better results without them and save a ton of money. Think those PruvIt drinks are $8 or $9 per serving. That's not because they're something special but because there's a lot of people getting paid as these things are multilevel marketed.

So the guy describes a diet he is on where he’s currently losing 20 lbs a month, and you are explaining to him why it doesn’t work? :obama:

He never said he lost 20 pounds a month and diet and supplement are 2 different things. You're on Aussie's level in intellect.
