I didn't actually mean Fox News, by the way. I just meant they are from some sensational news outlet or blogger, meaning someone took a bunch of info and twisted it to support their wild and negative rhetoric. My ancestors were illegal immigrants at some point. I'm sure most of everyone here has the same story. This 'illegal immigrant' shit is getting old. There are so many other things we can ***** about that is wrong with our national debt. This is the last place I am going to look.

The defense budget certain needs to be cut in HALF. yes half, unless we want to take over the world we just dont need to spend that much.

You wouldn't know it but many people from europe just never became citizens. My grandma said it was very common among her friends parents when growing up, her dad never became a citizen. Except they were very poor and just trying to make a better lives for themselves, o wait..........

Thanks dickhead. Sorry presenting views from a woman who grew up in the depression surrounded by parents and others who were "illegal immigrants" isn't valid enough for you. Please present some more stats about how illegal's make up a third of the prison population......



Take a step back before you judge illegal immigrants, my ancestors were no different as were many, I owe everything to them for being here so I'm not gonna get all worked up over an issue that truly doesn't have that deep of an impact on our lives. Then again I'm sure illegals are just rampant in Algonquin, is it close to 99% white there? Dude I don't get how its a big issue to you when you live in a land that was inhabited by Native's less than 200 years ago, and Algonquin was especially important to them due to the fact that the Potowatomi had burial mounds on there. Then again, your ancestors were legal when they came here so why would you care about anyone else.

Different times, different era, different circumstances. A lot has changed since the old days of our grandmas and their grandmas. The population of the US in 1900 was 76 mil.

In 100 years it went up to 281 mil. that's an increase of 205 mil... or almost triple.



And since then... in the last 10 years... 308 mil. In 10 years it went up 27 mil. And is only getting worse. Do you think the job market is rising that fast? By the end of this century the projection is 571 mil people. ** all per US Census. The population has exploded and I don't think the job market has been able to sustain such a fast pace. Bureau of Labor statistics said in 2009 there were only about 134 mil total jobs in the US. Don't know what they are counting though.

All three of my grandparents that came here from Europe, did so legally, and became citizens. Comparing people that are coming here to milk our system and make money, to people that were fleeing countries decimated by war, to escape hell, is hardly a good comparison to make... If all these illegals coming over from Mexico were really serious about staying here, they would care about becoming citizens, and they wouldn't break the law as their first action in their new "home". Bottom line is, they don't, and I really don't give a shit how many of them you have helped out at food depositories. One of my friends came over here from Poland when he was ten years old. His family did so legally, and his parents became citizens. There are a LOT of people that follow our rather EASY path to citizenship. And yes, it is fairly fucking easy when you compare it to other countries, and the benefits you receive from doing so. Then again, why become a citizen when you can milk our system by committing fraud and stealing from our government as an illegal, and then go back to your real home and live like a king?

You know... honestly, a big issue that I see with some of the illegal immigrant work is that a large majority of that money is being sent back to Mexico or whatever country they come from. It's another huge reason why we should be getting a cut somehow. They come here to make money for their families back home. So not only do we lose the job, but we lose a good chunk of money that could be used as an injection into the economy. Who knows how much it really is, but every little bit has to count. I mean for gods sake western union is still in business. And not just because a Prince in Africa has some money for you or you won the lottery in eastern Europe.



Say you have 6 million illegal workers sending as little as 10$ a week back to mexico. That's 3,120,000,000 a year that we could have had a piece of.

Oh, and on the subject of illegals and crime, one of the largest and most violent gangs right now is MS-13. Guess what nationality they are? Here's a hint, they aren't citizens of this country. There are a lot of others as well. Surenos-13, 18th Street, etc. You might want to look at crime statistics in places like L.A., Dallas, San Diego, and other large cities near the border with Mexico, before you go spouting off all this rainbows and butterflies crap in regards to illegals.

Not so sure Mexico right now isn't a worse place than Germany in 1900. You keep describing our ancestors as people who were escaping hell, both sides came in the 1900-1910 range, not so sure where the hell was. My german side left cause the economy, most of it was due to the fact that the economy of most european countries were shit, religious persecution for some, but my german, scots-irish sides weren't coming from places as bad as Mexico is right now. America was just a better life. Just like a hundred years ago, citizens here got pissed off when immigrants came and worked for shit taking the jobs, thats the real basis, hasn't changed. So there not registered as a citizen and skate by, thats on the government, or people who get all worked up about it but do nothing to stop it.

You should brush up on your world history, I think. You do realize that the largest influx of immigrants form Europe came in the few years preceding, and during the first World War, right? Yeah, I'm sure life was just awesome in those countries at that time.



You are also not taking into account economic times or industrial growth. In a time where we don't have enough jobs for citizens of this country, do we really need a shitload of illegals coming over here and taking up jobs? No. Reaching with your comparison, is putting it lightly.
