None of those guys have anywhere near close an obp as Rizzo
Those guys walk rates are even further off the obp compared to rizzo
You want a 1980's roster in 2019, not happening. Until the cubs get someone who can get on base at a 380+ % rizzo is by far the best option the way this roster is constructed as the name of the game is to get on base.
you want rizzo to drive in runs or hit the big hr w/ guys on. It's a small sample size but he's not going to do it for a whole year. He's not built as a leadoff hitter. He's doing it because he's asked to.
Plugging guys into leadoff when they're not killed some of these guys last 3 years, Schwarb , Heyward, etc.. Once they got out of leadoff they've performed better.
I don't think the new manager next year will bat Rizzo leadoff anyway. Unless he's told by Theo.
Theo's suppose to be a genius. he needs to find a guy next offseason. But then again, he's not done that last 3 offseasons.
