Because back then, they didn't have cars to drive them everywhere so they got exercise with most transportation. Also, there was a lot less processed food which meant less calories overall.
I made that point, myself, but it's still just a part of it. Didn't eat as often either. These days, we have things that not only make people more sedentary but always wanting something to snack on or drink. The eating cycle is never broken, the body never given a chance to do its thing and normalize.

TL couldn't. He just admitted it. Maybe if he tried eating a balanced nutrition and with cheat meals sprinkled in small amounts, he could.

Because I put on weight after 8 and a half years?

What percentage of people that you know weigh the same or less than 8 years ago?

I added it mostly over the course of a relatively short time, and am consciously doing something about it.

In three months, I will weigh less than I did after my big loss in 2009. I don't hink that's exactly an indictment.

You can eat a balanced diet with keto. Can have meat, dairy, vegetables, fruit. I don’t think you know enough about keto to be able to hate on it.

Also I do it in combination with IF, which comes naturally, so that gives me buffer room IMO. Sweet potatoes aren’t keto but I eat them some times. Peanut butter technically isn’t keto cause it’s a legume but I eat it. Not a big deal there though cause it’s still easy to fit into keto macros.

Those are really the only 2 things I’ve made room for and done that from the start without it throwing anything off.

I don’t think I really crave anything else. There’s low carb pizza available more now. I used to be big on bread but not crazy about it now. Sometimes have a slice or 2 of that new low carb 647 brand. Still have milk, it’s just unsweetened Almond or coconut and can add erythritol to sweeten it up. Also can add collagen that already has erythritol in it.

Honestly, as much as you people claim it’s so hard to sustain, it’s normal food and easy to sustain. If it was the least bit difficult for me and I really thought I was missing out on some good food, I’d be more than comfortable now to leave keto and just stick to IF. But that’s not the case so why not stick with it knowing the good it’s already done? It’s like a friend to me now and I want to be loyal to it. [emoji23]

Here's what I don't get about IF and weight training

If you can only eat in a tight window, but want to work out and build muscle mass, which ideally means you are consuming at least 20 grams of protein within 20 minutes of lifting, then does that mean you have to time your workouts to be right in that window? How do you guys make that work?

Also, does that mean you can't do big protein fix right before bed?

I like the idea of the testosterone level increase boasted by IF but what good is it if your protein intake is so restricted?

I literally eat whenever i want. I'm usually hungry after the gym so just eat after the gym. It doesnt matter when you eat. Before or after working out. Same shit happens. I eat before bed all the time. Your body isnt on a 24 hour clock like our lives are.

Workout. Eat protein foods. Repeat. One way ticket to gainsville baby.

IF is also often done on its own without keto. It doesn’t restrict protein. Any halfway sensible diet will do. Keto doesn’t really restrict protein either. It does limit it to 20-25% of your calories though to prevent glycogenesis, a process in which the excess protein taken in is treated like carbs and converted to sugar.

Seen that other question come up before with others. You can work the workout around your eating window if you feel the need but studies I’ve seen referenced time and again say cardio is most effective when in a fasted state and there is no truth to the popular thought you need eat protein or carbs a certain amount of time before or after lifting to get maximum gains.

I've read a lot of sources that say a good protein snack right after working out and right before bed can do wonders for protein synthesis post-lifting. I agree that it doesn't need to be all scientific to get results, just eat a lot and life heavy and get max protein for what you can actually digest healthily. The protein timing thing is recommended by a lot of sports science ppl though...

Never heard of the protein timing thing, srs. Maybe it's true. Sounds right but I never read anything on it so I can't comment on that.

https://health.usnews.com/wellness/...-really-need-protein-right-after-your-workout

also for general weight gains, SUMOS eat a HUGE MEAL and then go right to SLEEP. they've been doing that for 1,0000s of years.

The link you point to literally speaks of one of the studies I alluded to saying the anabolic window is not just that 1-3 hours pre or post workout. It says, and I literally quote, "Taken together, this research clearly demonstrates that skeletal muscle remains responsive to protein ingestion during time periods outside the limits usually defined by the 'anabolic window,'" Witard says. "Indeed, it appears that this 'anabolic window' extends to 24 hours post-workout, or perhaps even longer."

It also says you’d need to take in 1.3grams of protein per body weight in kilograms and from when I followed my macros on keto I can tell you Keto literally called for much more than that so no problem there.

Suggest you not listen to Mitchapalooza. He is a fraud and a fountain of misinformation. I remember him crying for months on end about how he was struggling to lose the weight in Aussie’s thread, before he e-suicided, and now he acts as if he can eat anything whenever.

You just need listen to me. I’ve done all the research so you people don’t have to because I know you’re all real damn bad at it.

Mitch is doing just fine. I dont really want a ketosis lifestyle or need it either, unless I was looking to shred in like under 20 days. I'm just looking to bulk as leanly efficiently and short term as possible.

But I do like what keto has done for ppl i know who arent trying to put on significant muscle mass. My father in law was nearing a diabetic state just because of age, it fixed that and cholesterol in a month.

That’s great about your father in law. Whether needed now or not, always good to have the knowledge of it for when ya get older, like me, and things aren’t working as optimally as they once did.

Don’t post that nasty shit. Did I say something untrue? Of course not. And recall you turning to Intermittent Fasting too so stop being a poser.

Lmao I never said I did IF, I just said I usually don't eat in the am so naturally I guess I somewhat fast. I'm not an IF hater at all.

I'm just literally not hungry in the morning. I don't intentionally not eat for a period of time. Sometimes I'll have breakfast but it's rare.
