Keto recomends around 5% carbs.

20 g a day starting out (first two weeks), then you can up it. Some places say 50g a day, but that doesn't seem low carb to me. 30g or so would be far better.

He just asked what you would consider to be low carbs compared with most people's macros? Or did he mean low enough to be in Keto?

Fries really are not that good. Even back in college, I would get a baked potato any day over fries at most restaurants. To be honest, McDonalds has the best tasting fries of any restaurant I have ever tried.

I always liked fries too but now my idea of going heavy carb would be to have a whole sweet potato. I'd take it over fries any day now. Hell, you can make fries out of 'em too but just like it as is with, of course, BUTTER! I swear if there's any in the kitchen tomorrow I'm having the biggest one. Gotz me licking my chops as I type about it.

I love sweet potatoes. Trying not to eat them as much, but damn they are good.

If you were celebrating a birthday or something and were looking for a cheat dessert that didn't set you back too far, Cheesecake Factory has a low carb cheesecake option on the original. 32 net carbs with 6 grams of sugar. I have gotten it and it's not half bad. It's crazy how ridiculous 99% of their menu is from a calorie and carb perspective.

I just read that Weight Watchers stock is down 80% from last July, due largely to Keto.

But, God bless 'em, they are determined to not change a thing

"Everybody on the diet side looks for the quick fix. We've been through this before and we know that we are the program that works," their CEO said.

Uh huh.

Weight Watchers is the biggest joke out there. They've relied solely on repeat customers all these years. That amounts to a lot of failure all those years. Only the dumbest of the dumb stick with the antiquated company now.

Exactly. They advertise the living shit out of that program, keep bringing on the same people (similar to Nutrisystem). The same celebrities keep losing 50 pounds. Oprah bought in and made a fortune and since then the whole thing went to hell.

I agree they rely on repeat cutomers. Not exactly sustainable.

But 80%? That’s a death knell.

One thing I'm still unclear on regarding IF: drinking alcohol.

If I have a vodka tonic during my fasting period, does that break it? It's 0 carbs, but obviously any alcohol has soluble calories.

Idk man, I fee like only people like Spartan are that hardcore. You're probably good. What about black coffee? Coffee is the only thing I usually have during my fast, it's non-negotiable.

It's not about being 'hardcore' really, it's just science lol. There's a right and a wrong answer, but I honestly don't know in this scenario.

Black coffee is fine on IF, I drink it before workouts.

My humble knowledge and reading gives this: Alcohol is turned into acetate in your body. Your body will burn acetate as fuel before burning fat, protein, or carbs. Your fat burning will probably decrease.

Black coffee is not only a go in the fasting window but said to amplify the effect. Anything else with any calories would be considered a no go.

I'm not really hard core with it. I don't track anything, I go just by feel now and have been doing so for the past half year.

So this whole time I've been fasting I thought I was cheating, but in reality I've been fasting on steroids. Hells yeah

It's funny but I've been IF for years. Maybe that's why I look ten years younger than 41. Rarely eat b4 noon, black coffee at 6am. 2 big meals between noon and 8pm.

I can't wait to look your age in 20 years when I'm actually 10 years older than the age I look like you do now at the age of 41 but look 31
