This is what most of them do and its not hard at all. Where does it look like its going? Predict that and give yourself an out with a couple qualifiers.

Clout chasing the Bears fanbases 101.
Yea, I won't say it's hard or anything. This tweet in particular wouldn't be hard to develop cause it has outs built in. And worst case, if it doesn't happen, anyone can always say "things changed".

Ok, then you do it. From now until next year. Start a thread and prognosticate. Let's see how detailed you can be guessing and how accurate you can be.

But you won't. Because for all your talk saying its not hard, you wouldn't come close to the accuracy of some of the people you like to hate on....

Not sure why you don't hire the GM first and then let him hire the coach. They should know what they are going to do with the GM, not dictate that based on a HC.

This is probably quite different from Harbaugh or Shanny who were already able to do talent acquisition, Harbaugh is someone you trust to run the org, Ben Johnson or Joe Brady, no.
Yes, I think everyone recognizes this dysfunction and it's actually quite similar to what they did with the Poles hire. They are just idiots.

Its the nature of rumors.

I remember when the Bears first hired Mike Martz and Bernstein said the Bears were trying to trade Greg Olson. The fans erupted and you had a ton of "Anytimes" claiming Bernstein was making shit up and didn't have any sources, and even did a victory lap when Olson wasn't traded right away.

...Then the following offseason, Olson gets traded to Carolina and the hold up was because the Bears didn't like any of the offers that last offseason, but the Panthers gave them one they liked.

I really don't think a lot of people on these forums understand how the rumor mill works, even conceptually.

This is by far the structure that needs to happen.....but it won't

We'll be sitting here in 12 months with Poles being weeks away from getting canned

More likely than not you are right - but the wildcard here is Kevin Warren.

We're about to find out a lot about what kind of pull Warren really has at Halas Hall.

Time will tell if this guy is legit or not, but this dude's take on what was written is an oversimplification on what was posted.

1. I read the piece about Poles as - the next HC will determine if Poles is still the GM. That is a lot more significant than "The Bears may or may not fire Poles."

2. He literally ended the post with "It will be an offensive HC or bust." It didn't say that could either hire an offensive HC or defensive coach. The post even said that, even if a non-offensive HC blew them away, they would still defer to an offensive HC if the gap wasn't large. Everything that was said seems to indicate that it will be an offensive HC.

Like I said.. this dude could be full of shit, but what he posted was actually more nuanced and specific than what the dude in your tweet made it seem like. We'll see in 2 months.

I will say... it does sound incredibly like the Bears to basically pick their HC and then allow him to determine if the GM sticks around instead of having the balls to make a move themselves.

They do that on purpose. For some reason, insiders rub people the wrong way, and so they go out of their way to claim specific information is "generalized" so they can claim "anyone can do it".

Why their fragile ego is so bothered by this to the point of going through that level of mental gymnastics in the first place is beyond my understanding.

No, I get it, but that also makes it hard to know who knows what. I get things change. I get that if he's really plugged and giving it out as he hears it, things will change on him a lot of the time.

My only point is the original one... this twitter seems to post solid stuff. I don't care if it's from his sources or it's via the tea leaves or if he's totally guessing. At minimum, it's well thought out to be reasonably believable. Other than that, I don't care to argue about if he's in fact plugged in or how replicable his tweets are for anyone to do.

On Bear report when the first group of names for the post-Angelo GM search was released, i was the first person to say the name Phil Emery(who wasnt on the list) and guess who was hired? Imagine thinking me, someone who nails this shit time and time again and give ahead of the curve opinions that end up becoming popular belief needs to prove anything to you, an obese, tin foil hat Q-tard whos on his 12th username with a reputation for doxing minors. 🤣

I have a suspicion on how this plays out.

My take is Warren already knows who he wants. And he knows he wants Poles out. So I think IF it is Johnson and Agnew - the only one who doesn't actually know that - is Poles.

Warren kind of has a slimy reputation, so him having an agreement in place with Johnson to basically not want to work with Poles during the interview process as a way to leverage Poles getting fired is something Warren might try to pull.

Hey guys, Ryan Poles will be the Bears GM but if enough bad stuff happens he wont be!
Hey guys, Mike Vrabel is the front runner for the Bears job but unless another candidate really hits their interview out of the park, it will be Vrabel. Or unless it becomes clear Vrabel cant co-exist with Warren, then its anyones job. UNLESS Ben Johnson convinces them he can be a leader of men, then its his job to lose. Yadda yadda fuckin yadda.

At the end of the day, results and track record is all that matters.

I've seen too many haters who can't do it themselves hate on those who can to pay them much mind.

Honestly, once DBB lost his "source", I stopped following; I have no love for any of these guys - I just care about accuracy. And this dude has been solid thus far.

Breaking: For the 5th week in a row Kirk Cousins is on a short leash. Sources within the Altanta Falcons organization are swooning over Michael Penix. IF Kirk Cousins continues to struggle, THERES A POSSIBILITY Penix will see action this week!

Gosh, what a tough job.

If you are so heated about this shit, then why pay attention to any of it? haha

BINGO.

Exactly my point.

Only other explanation is some of the people here might be friends with some of the bum ass journos who leech off of the same old Chi City Plotlines for lazy stories (McCaskeys Cheap, Bears QB bad, etc) that when someone has some actual info that should have been picked up by the beat guys if they were actually doing their jobs, their friends get mad and jealous, and they are sticking up for their loser friends.

Because if that isn't it, I got nothing on why they act like that - at least in the above, they are taking up for someone so I can sort of respect it...

What will happen is that the Bears beat the Packers at the end of the season since GB will have nothing to play for and be rolling their 3rd/4th stringers. That will be all the goodwill the FO needs to only hire a new HC.
