This is a key point that a lot of people forget. Thibs just was completely stubborn when it came to adjustments, lineup changes, and straying away from his norm. If you play and coach the exact same way in the playoffs as you do in the regular season, other teams will catch on, and did catch on. Simply put, the playoffs are a game of adjustments and Thibs was too hard headed to do so.
:yep:

We were all willing to excuse 2012, 2013, and 2014 due to injury. Last season nothing changed without the injuries.

I think Crys' next crusade should be over the short term memory issues Chicago sports fans seem to have.

Here's a fun stat: Tony Snell is tied for 7th in the league in 3FG%.

Tied with Doug.

The real thing that killed us was not thibs or the front office being cheap....it was that lockout....seriously ive said this before and people kinda acted like i was talking crazy but the lockout did 2 things that hurt us

the main one was the compressed schedule. Derrick couldn't handle it and had nagging injuries all year and he kept rushing back...the ACL tear was probably due to him compensating for another injury

second one was the Derrick Rose Rule that they implemented which hurt us financially...it was the difference in being able to offer a max contract to Carmelo

it doesn't really matter what the front office or thibs did...we realistically didn't have a chance with a guy eating 30% of the cap space sitting on the bench in a versace suit....eating candy

And Kirk is 9-13 which is about 70% and would lead the league! :D

Lockouts do that to some people. I think the 1999 lockout screwed up some players as well (and many reported to their teams out of shape).

I've definitely blamed the ACL tear on his other injuries, due to the fact the ACL was a non-contact injury.

As far as the Derrick Rose rule... it wouldn't have saved us that much money where the Bulls could have gotten a major impact player in his place. Yeah they would have had more money to spend on Carmelo, but Knicks could have still offered more, doubt that would have swayed him, and as Gus says below, I'm actually glad that didn't work out. Just something lacking about Carmelo.

A few things I've found interesting in the last couple of weeks:

a. Dougie made comments regarding the offense, and how in some instances it's been simplified - and it reminded him of the Thibs offense. I can't imagine that makes people happy.
b. I still think (and maybe this is blind hope) that the offense is being held back. I don't expect the offense to be fully rolling until March/April.
c. For all the hand-wringing about minutes and playing through injuries, Fred played Jimmy for 40 minutes on Monday on a bruised heel. Yeah, it was a nice win - but I thought the new philosophy would be that you don't win anything in November. Because you don't win anything in November.

What I dont get is it because Hoiberg doesn't have the personnel to truly run his system or has management micromanaged him telling him what he has to do?

Combination of both I would think.

The lineup definitely isn't ideal for Fred. His starting PG is the worst starting PG in the league. By far. He's laughably inefficient, probably on a historic level, he doesn't push the ball, and isn't a great facilitator. Gasol is basically the opposite of what Fred wants. Bigs who can get out and run. As been said a million times on here, this roster needs a shakeup. Needs more youth and athleticism. I've been impressed with what Fred has been able to do so far.

Anybody see Calipari say Rose doesn't have a high pain threshold. I think he meant his game is sensitive to injury and he has to be right, but I thought it was a wow since that is his father figure. I can only imagine Cal was doing parcels and saying what needed to be said to motivate him.
