Noah is a face-up player who thrives in transition. Big men typically improve their foot work as they grow and mature in the league. Noah can definitely develop a low-post game.

FirstTimer, you said before that someone would need to be basketball Special person to not have Oscar Robertson in their top 5.
Correct.

I disagree.
You're wrong.

As usual.

He was essentially LeBron James before LeBron James. Unless you believe that LeBron is a top 5 player of all-time, too, you have no business believing that The Big O belongs all the way up there.

Lebron has the potential to be by the end of his career. Right now? No. Potentially? Yes. LeBron is all of 27/28 years old. Robertson has played an entire career.

STFU.

Thanks for the quantitative "you're wrong's." You sure contributed mightily to the discussion.

STFU.

Oscar Robertson played a grand total of 5 more seasons than LeBron James and, by then, Robertson's best days were behind him. If James isn't better than Oscar by now, he never will be. Your logic is nonsensical.

Josh Smith and Omer Asik as a front-court would be some of the worst half-court offense you could ever imagine if they were on the court together. Amazing interior defense; horrendous offense.

Coming from the guy who thinks Oscar Robertson is overrated.

If James isn't better than Oscar by now, he never will be.
WUT?!?!

Lebron has areas of his game he can improve. If Lebron James can get better, become more well rounded scoring wise yes he could overtake Oscar. The **** are you smoking?

The number of seasons doesn't have to be equal..and it never would be considering Oscar played 4 years in college. Saying Oscar "only played" 5 more years in the league kind of glosses over the fact that Oscar lost 4 possible seasons to college you numbskull. I would hope Lebron plays more seasons in the NBA than Oscar seeing as right off the bat he had a 4 year advantage.

I also think it's hilarious you say this..yet Noah, who is the same age as Lebron can still develop a dominating offensive post game.
Jesus, you're awful.

Monta Ellis is literally one of the last guys in the NBA I want on this team. Monta's attitude is shit, he's extremely arrogant and selfish. Sure he scores 25 PPG but he chucks up ill-advised shots, and good luck getting him to play defense. Putting him next to Rose would give me nightmares. Especially if we were to give up Jo or Lu for him.

LeBron James may not even be as good of a player as he was 2 years ago. All of that extra muscle mass he has put on has hindered his penetrating ability and his quickness. Unless he develops a post-up game, he won't improve at all.

It's too bad that LeBron didn't go to college. Maybe he could have been the GOAT if he had with all of that athleticism. You are talking about Oscar going to college as if it was some kind of disadvantage for him.

Look at Oscar's first 8 seasons and then look at LeBron's first 8. Oscar was already starting to drop off by then. LeBron puts up similar stats with more athleticism in a tougher era. There is no comparison. LeBron>Robertson.

:obama:

Think about this for two fucking seconds.

After Oscar's first 8 seasons in the league, his peak was already known. After James' first 8 seasons, we have seen him dominate statistically close to as much as Oscar with more talent in a tougher era.

LeBron James, who is typically not thought of as a top 5 NBA player of all-time > Oscar Robertson.

Your claim that Oscar Robertson is a hand-down top 5 player is mistaken. Top 10-15 maybe. Top 5? No.

Jordan>Oscar

Abdul-Jabbar>Oscar

Johnson>Oscar

Bird>Oscar

Olajuwon>Oscar

O'Neal>Oscar

Chamberlain>Oscar

Russell arguably > Oscar

Not top 5.

oscar didnt really fall off until his 10th season...thats partly because back then players didnt enter the NBA at 19...that helps lebron a bit

comparing two different eras is a bit apples and oranges

was it an easier era? of course...but conversely other than kareem near the end of his career did he have much help

i'm not sold on lebron>oscar right now...i think its hard for me to not put oscar in my top 10

Top 10-15 maybe? Ok man...the guy freaking averaged a triple double for a season and almost averaged one for at least 2 or 3 more. He could do anything on the court and for the most part, do it well. He pretty much invented the fadeaway or something like that. That's got to put him in the top 15 let alone the top 5 or 10.
