I love how he scans the field. Or at least makes the defense think one way by looking off then coming back to the receiver. That’s not something a rookie QB picks up easily. I’m glad they are pushing that on him, looking off defenders. What helps to is that he always was good at scanning the field in college. So they took advantage of it and are focusing on him looking off. The rest is just natural ability. The fucking things you look for in a 1st overall fucking pick!

Now, that’s doesn’t mean he will be great. But damn it, it’s a good fucking sign for sure. Just hope it all works out at the end!

Go Caleb! Go Bears!
I knew when he was drafted he would come in as a better passer than Fields day 1. I was a huge Fields fan, still am, but man I am so glad Carolina's GM is a giant effing mongo.

What does TE and DE stand for? I'm new to this football thing so tell me more. SMDH

Well you sure seem new when you crying that our TE who everyone raves about being a good blocker is asked to block a DE on occassion.

Holy shit you're a moron. TE's aren't always asked to block DE's one on one like you seem to think they are especially the great ones. It's usually more giving help with a chip block. All i was wondering was why he was so alone and far away from anyone else on that play and said i would have liked to seen the video from the beginning.

Also - Nobody raves about how great of a blocker Kmet is because he's not great but is a good all around TE.

You're just still mad that we drafted Kmet over your boy C.Claypool.

The ball placement on these slow mo Caleb highlights looks really fucking good. I can’t wait to see the offense firing on all cylinders. Tyler Scott better step up his game. You can’t be dropping balls if the QB throws a dime.
Regarding Tyler Scott, he got knocked on his ass getting off the line in the Buffalo game. It was discouraging. It's especially discouraging because the Bears need speed in the WR room.

Curious why you feel this? Odunze has the speed and Moore/Allen are great route runners. Don’t think Bears need speed.

It seems like the Bears have an embarrassment of riches at the running back position. I can't believe that I was once reticent about them letting Jordan Howard go. Nothing against Howard because he seemed like a good guy, but the current crop of running backs on the Bears, and in the modern NFL era in general, is pretty talented.
Swift is a better receiver than Montgomery for sure.

The Chiefs let the fastest WR/player in the NFL go and they did just fine. Speed doesn't matter as much as getting the ball to your players where they don't have to slow down in their routes. If Caleb is leading his receivers, having a WR with 4.3 speed won't matter.

I am somehow simultaneously old enough to remember CBMB while at the same time being too old to remember CBMB.

You cant read. I said there are always times when a TE has to block one on one. There are always times they have to chip.

If there is a blitz on the opposite side and inside blitz then the D is bringing 6 when the OL has 5. If the RB is going out then the RT will have to slide to take the blitzer. The RG takes the LDE, the C takes the NT, RG takes the inside blitzer, LT takes other DT, TE takes DE.

Or there are times the D may be in wide 9 and have the ROLB or Nickel blitz right at the LT to force the TE to have to take the DE.

Like you get the D coordinator has ways to try and get his guy in favorable one on ones right? He isnt just twiddling his thumbs letting his best DE get doubled all game or never matched up on a TE.
