And I think it's pretty good. Much better with Sweat on board. Booker's been improving. Could we draft/trade for a better DE across from Sweat? Sure. I think they're going to see what they have on the roster.
Jfc man. The Bears pass rush is not good

It greatly improved when we added Sweat. But yes, we need better PR/DE across from him.

"Before Sweat's arrival, the Bears had one of the worst pass rushes in the NFL, with only 10 sacks and six interceptions in the eight games prior. In the nine games after Sweat joined, the Bears doubled and almost tripled that production, with 20 sacks and 16 interceptions. "

You are correct they WERE one of the worst. I think if Walker/Booker can take a step up, with our elite CBs/LBs, our DL/DE will be much improved.

I'm glad that you also think that Poles' first draft was a huge bust that only works out as an intentional tank.

The problem is was and always will be the trenches are most important in lip service, DBs are most important in reality. And he hasn't even hit on those for the amount of talent pumped into the positions.
The fact that he won't give up on that 2 round reach of a bust in VJJ is just odd at this point.
3rd round

Only when someone who defended Pace right up until he was fired is crying about Poles not rebuilding whole team in 3 years.

@dabears70 got a boner reading this tweet.
Still got me and Ryan Pace on your mind i see.

Thinking it probably gives you a boner.....which makes me a bit uncomfortable.

Well given he drafted them then yes. Doesnt mean he was right.

Pretty much every team that needed a DT that didnt draft Turner made a mistake. Happens every draft to every GM.
So it wasn't only Ryan Pace that was wrong about not drafting Mahomes then......got it.

Atta boy Pace..:Pace:

It's only @remydat talking about Pace (again) but he sure has built a hell of a team in Atlanta.

Yeah London over Olave and Wilson, Arnold O over Bo Maye, Ridder over Purdy terrible moves in 2022. In 2023 he took Harrison over Kobie Turner.

It sucks after 3 years Pace still trying to build the trenches and had to trade a pick for Judon because the 7 DL he has taken since 2022 were not enough.

I agree with this take mostly. But I would keep pettis over VJJ. And he can return for us, plus I think he is still a solid backup receiver. And isnt he even younger than Velus?

Pettis cant play RB and will be 29 this year. VJJ is 27.

There's only one thing i've been complaining about with our defense and that's our pass rush.
If Booker is the real deal and we add one more vet, probably Ngakoue rush should be fine. Dexter did get much better in the second half of the season with his rush. Rush downs should look something like this, Sweat, Dexter, Walker, Booker/Ngakoue should Poles sign him.

The funny thing is after responding to you I saw you defedning Pace some more despite Falcons having the same record as Bears in a shit division and getting beat by us last year.

But Pettis is a better receiver and a solid punt returner. If Jones isn’t considered to be the starting KR, I doubt they keep him.

Pettis just muffed a punt this preseason and averages 6.6 on punt returns. He is a garbage punt returner. Just better hands.

But yes assume VJJ has to either be the KR or excel as a gunner to stick assume he doesnt return punts.

He def will be though because the only other one who had a decent look was Tyler Scott
