Having the top set up and closer in Milwaukee will make any manager look like a genius

Turning shit to gold is not a thing. Jed is the primary problem.
then we can likely compound the piling on Jed and mention overpaying for a manager that isnt going to change the outcomes of anything.

True.

If it was me. I would start with bringing up Roberts. DFA brewer.

Then wait for Leiter and Brown to return from the IL. That point DFA Neris and Smyly

As they start to get healthy then continue to get rid of the bad pitching.

Eventually you will have a decent pen and Craig's starts to look smart because he has good choices vs avoiding bad choices.

I don't like that he avoids Thompson. He needs to tap that ass more when it matters.

they wont be DFAing Neris or Smyly IMO. Neris will have trade value at the deadline, smyly could as well

i blame both Jed and Counsell

Jed for providing a crap bullpen and Counsell for being paid extremely well to make zero improvements to the outcomes. He is supposed to be a bullpen savant, I am still waiting to see any evidence of it
He could've saved his owner $40 mil and saved face with his players by not firing Ross after praising him. Every game it looks more and more like Hoyer's team building is the problem...not a Manager's decision.

Hayden will stick as a starter. Assad to the DL. Lingering forarm extensor strain.

Picked up a scrub for the pen.

No slot for Ethan Roberts.

Almonte moved to 60 day to make a useless roster opening

Damage control. Mayday mayday

It’s amazing how many athletes hurt themselves punching walls. So fucking stupid.

This Bigge guy was pitching in the minors while someone like Colten Brewer was pitching in high leverage save situations in do or die games as far as holding the record together enough to not sell off?

This is a poorly run franchise. When Theo Epstein left, so did the competence.

I listened to the Wed game on SiriusXM while traveling, and had the Orioles broadcast. The crowd reaction was very noticeable when something went in the Cubs favor. I know at least one friend who attended. He must have been loud.

Cubs outscored them 21-2 and Baltimore didn't score in the last 24 innings of the series.

Now we head to St. Louis for 4 games in 3 days and who knows where the starters will come from.

Hopefully Cubbies start bailing water out of this sinking ship and salvage the season.

Eh, maybe. I dunno. Other than a few highlights, I haven't watched a Cub game since May. Fucking Hoyer's lazy assed job of GMing has sucked the interest out of this team for me. Where was Hodge and Bigge when they were trotting out stiffs like Cuas on a regular basis.

The Cubs are short on starters and threw Hendricks against the Cards best starter and came away with a W. Good start.

I figured Team Rabbit’s Foot would be in good shape with that match up followed by that poor TBD having to pitch both ends of a DH for the Cubs tomorrow.

Sorry to see them lose that scoreless streak but that’s not the important part.
