We can stay at the y as I got two new jobs and am going to keep the membership.

Works for me.

I was just going to say that playing outside would be fun on 1 side but then it may be rainy that day or too much windy and I would hate to miss it out and reschedule - it's not like we are playing every weekend (although I would love to).

So indoors would be much better.

Indoors does have its advantages. I'd be cool with it assuming I can get some transportation down there. At least for the first few times because I would probably get lost driving myself. Quick question: does Doug's membership cover all of us or do we still have to pay to get in? Just want to be clear on that.

And cool: if you really wanted to play outdoors, I'd play with you.

It's $9 to get in.

I don't mind playing out doors if we have somewhere good to play. The only problem is you never know if the weather rains you out, and the wind / sun can really make it miserable at times. Plus I don't like to use my nicer ball outdoors because they get chewed up so fast.

Overall, indoors is a much better experience to me, but I'm good with the "free" outdoor ball too.

Indoors definitely has much nicer conditions and everything. No sun getting into your eyes, no dirt flying everywhere, your ball lives to see another day, no wind adjusting your shot. In terms of court conditions, indoor wins too as everything is just much nicer. The only reason I would pick outdoors over indoors is because it's free, but it's hard to find a quality outdoor court. Fortunately I live near one...I think.

Anybody want to play a 3-on-3 on the southside of Chicago for during Memorial day weekend? Prize money is $500!

A bit tempting. But given that you dont 'play' all that well here, I cant imagine it being worth the effort.

Playing basketball 3 straight days (fri, sat, sun) was probably a bad idea. I feel like i've been run over by a truck. That said, when are we playing again (im a glutton for punishment)? Also, whenever you want to set up some time to go through those shooting drills DT, i'm in.

Until July 1st, I'm basically free from 9 to 2 about, so I could do stuff any day during the week at that time.

I have to refigure out when i can play on weekends, my daughter's summer reading program is from 2-4 on Sunday's, so I need to play early enough to get home by 1:45 to take her, or I need to play at 5pm (at which case the Y is a bad choice since it's only open until 6 on sundays I believe).

I could maybe switch things to Saturdays though, but I figured I should email about it to see what everyone else's thoughts are.

I'm seperating from my current job soon so i'll have plenty of free time. Id love to shoot for friday if you dont have anything going on.

I'm fine with either moving the time up on sundays, or changing the day all together. The one request id have is, given that i'm a relatively young bachelor, if we move it to saturday...the earlier the better. As my evenings are usually reserved for other forms of recreation. :)

The one thing that is clear is that I need to keep playing as I feel my legs getting stronger but I have no faith whatsoever in my knee.

Are you guys playing this Sunday??

I'll be in, even though my finger is still jacked up. It doesn't seem to be getting better, and I'm sick of not playing. So I'll tape it up and head on out to the Y.

I think it's better to wait until next week, I don't think I'm going to be able to figure out my weekend fast enough to set something up this week.

I have been super busy fixing my other home in Niles as I have a buyer who might buy that home but he is requesting this fixed and then another thing fixed, so I am going there every weekend to get all the things done as I can't go during the week.

I am going there this friday and hopefully I can find someone who can fix my driveway (lot of cracks and need to add a layer so it slopes the other side of the home).

Once I sell that home, I will be the happiest man and I can just concetrate on my home that I live in right now and will have ton of time for Basketball and other things.

How about Sunday early morning like 9am or something???

Hey guys I want to ask you something. I was playing some basketball outside yesterday and it was very very windy. It actually was not that easy to deal with it.

I was wondering how it is in the windy city? Is it a problem for you?

On windy days it really sucks. For most of my life I haven't been at a high enough ability level for it to really matter much, but I've improved my jumper a lot over the past year, and I wouldn't even bother shooting it much on a windy day. I try to play in doors when possible.

As a side note, I hope to be able to organize something for next weekend on saturday. I can't do sundays anymore. I need to double check my schedule though.

Thanks for coming out today Fola, it was awesome. I can't believe how hot I was shooting in 32, but it felt pretty good. It was amusing watching those kids gap in amazement everytime you hit a long three while I'm just thinking "that's what he does".
