Thanks for coming out today Fola, it was awesome. I can't believe how hot I was shooting in 32, but it felt pretty good. It was amusing watching those kids gap in amazement everytime you hit a long three while I'm just thinking "that's what he does".

twas' my pleasure Doug. I think we both shot ridiculously high percentages. I just didnt have the energy to actually go after rebounds for the most part. And here I was thinking I was getting back into shape.

I work on Saturdays, so it will be hit and miss as to when I can join you guys. I got a few weeks of vacation coming in July, so outside of the 4th, I can play.

Hey guys I want to ask you something. I was playing some basketball outside yesterday and it was very very windy. It actually was not that easy to deal with it.

I was wondering how it is in the windy city? Is it a problem for you?

Not that I live in Chicago, but wind has to the most annoying thing when playing ball outside. You release the ball, it feels good, then bam, the wind stops or alters the flight of the ball which makes what feels like a make, an air ball or brick.

It can really throw you off your rhythm.

It's kinda like when NBA players throw up a jumper after the whistle and a member of the opposition goaltends the ball just before it goes in. You don't get to link the good feel of the shot with the image of it sailing through the basket.

I'd like to play some time...I'm O.K. I think I can hang with you guys and hold my own.

Bad thing is ....I'm in Grand Rapids, MI. I would need major heads up when you guys meet. I have a lot of family that lives in Chicago so I am there quite a bit.

Let me know.

Just got back from my honeymoon and we have moved to Oak Park. This means I'm leaving all my regular games in Beverly behind. If you guys ever need another player, let me know. I love to play team ball and there's nothing better than when you have a good bunch of guys playing a hard fought game against each other (but still keeping it friendly). I'm 5'9" so if you're looking for big men to join your game, look elsewhere, but I consider myself to be a pretty decent player when I'm not physically overmatched. Give me a shout if you're interested.

Seriously Doug,

How much 'reading' does one little girl need?! I'm just saying.... its not like its a skill she'll need every day. Think about it. How often do you 'read' day to day.

sheeesh.

Anyone ever looking for hoops anymore or know of anywhere in Chicago where one can just go to an open gym without paying a ridiculous fee?

We (Me, Doug, Fola, Fred, etc) usually play at the Y in Schaumburg where Doug lives.

We just played couple of weeks ago. I think we should play again not this sunday but Sunday after???

Who else wants to play???
