I don't think waiting to see is a wise strategy. The odds aren't in your favor of teams letting aces or near aces (isn't this what most would call CJ Wilson) go. Look we've gone back and forth on this issue, and neither is going to convince the other. But the issue is that the pitching has been much worse than the hitting and there is no reason to think it will improve that much if left alone. The best option coming back from injury is far from a lock to extend his one really good start over a whole season and much less likely to be able to pitch 150+ innings next year. You have a huge hole that is being left by a guy counted on as a top 3 starter, and who knows what Randy Wells you are going to get (the trend isn't encouraging). The guys in the minors are at best bottom of the rotation guys and all have huge question marks about being able to contribute at a level above Rodrigo Lopez (Coleman's stuff, McNutt's health and inconsisentcy, Jay Jackson suckiness, Nicholas Struck being rushed to AAA, etc.). This idea that Cubs pitching will magically fix itself is a recipe for virtually guarantee failure next season.
