You've already proven yourself to be a complete football idiot but this takes the cake.
But I've only been posting for 9 games! How have I "proven" anything at this point? I haven't received the proper CCS coaching.

Well, we know he's not being benched now. But we know every team would discuss every option. Discussing can mean:

"hey, do we bench Caleb?"

"Nope, let's discuss the next option."

It can be as little as big or you want to make it. Reality is everything has to be discussed just as I'm sure Warren is discussing who he should fire... Poles is discussing who he should fire... and it goes down the chain.

But to the actual topic, benching Caleb is pointless now. I think you get a new playcaller in there and that person dumbs down the offense. Take some of that off of Caleb. Run any "simple" offense that others run and let him just build back up some confidence. Benching will not do him any good. They decided on this route when they named him the starter from day 1. They need to deal with it now.

And what happens if Bagent does well somehow? Is this all about winning at this point and trying to "prove" this lame play calling is good? Because it isn't, it really isn't.
Bagent's performance would actually be irrelevant.

I don't buy the notion Caleb can't learn anything. He is not the golden boy folks initially thought. He hasn't made anyone around him better. Will he, in time? Possibly. But right now he is out there getting raped. It isn't pretty and it's laughable. The season isn't over and this would at least seal the fate of Waldron whomst you could blast off into the sun after the GB game.

The next step with this current game planning is Caleb Williams getting injured. And he will get injured.
and dont minimize breaking a nail!! that shit can really hurt!

Bears fans will believe anything apparently.

Flus shooting this down was the most definitive I heard him all week.

This is ADAM SCHEFTER.

They're discussing it, that dude doesn't leak stuff for shits and giggles.

Don't put any level of stupidity off the table with this group, they're dumber than you think.

@dbldrew thots on this?
Kind of mixed emotions, one the one hand CW has not played to the level of keeping the starting job even for a rookie, on the other hand I kind of want this to crash and burn and everyone fired so last thing we need is Bagent wining a few games.

I really have a hard time caring either way to be honest

You are what your record says you are, TEoR. You still have time but you're not getting a second contract if you don't pick it up and post some bangers.

No one has really reported this yet, but I actually have a 5 year contract. Can CCS eat the remaining years? I think not.

The only thing they should do is script the plays for Williams to the point that this is the route, throw it before the WR breaks, and see what happens. Throwing INTs at this point wouldn’t hurt a thing. Caleb is showing the same bad habits Trubisky and Fields did which was inability to see the field and throw with anticipation.

Shocking. A rookie didn't come in and make bad players better.
The horror, the horror.

I hope they sell this team to St Louis. Chicago fans are too stupid to have a team.

Indeed, Youngster. Setting aside the fact that Bagent wouldn't come in and make this poor scheme suddenly work, even if he did, so what? Are the Bears trying to convince everyone they blew another #1 pick?

Why am I even talking about this?

Frankly, if Williams was throwing interceptions and pooping his pants and fumbling the football the way most rookies (and a certain former golden child around here) would be doing by now in spades, then, yes, maybe some time on the bench "learning" would be warranted. But he isn't. He's kept his poise, on field and off. I honestly don't believe Williams is the problem here.

The problems are in this order 1) the offensive line; 2) the playcalling/scheme; 3) lazy, diva receivers who have already thrown in the towel and aren't getting open worth even half of what they're being paid, which is a consequence of continuing to employ a head coach the players do not believe in. So add #0) Matt Eberflus.

Quarterbacks don't make offensive lines better. Where are those guys always circle-jerking over the "trenches." They've got the right idea (about trenches, not circle jerks, those seem really *** ...) . . .

Use your words like a big boy. You can call me stupid. You don't have to lump me in with the entire city. I think it's rich you have separated your own opinions from the rest of us. Great to be above it all.

Jordan came in and made everyone else better

Brady, Rodgers, Manning, Mahomes, etc etc etc. You want your golden boy(The number one pick in the fucking draft) to come in and make players around him better.

Fields at least made his o line look more competent than they were.

Hot take. Your opinions are so great, the Bears should sell the team because the rest of us can't get on your level? Fascinating stuff here.

Honestly, if the team is going to keep playing like they have been on offense, the best thing for Williams might be an injury he can fully recover from in 4-6 weeks....

Because he is looking like he is about to get entirely ruined.

I’d probably swap 1 & 2. The OL is definitely an issue but competent play calling and scheming can at least mask that issue a little bit. Re: 3. I don’t think the WRs are necessarily “divas”, I think they are pretty intelligent NFL players that have understood and accepted that the route trees are trash so…what’s the point of going out there and risking your own health when the organization and head coach are willing to let a completely incompetent coach continue to be the offensive coordinator? I don’t blame them one bit. DJ and Keenan are experienced enough to be able to look at a play and immediately ask WTF? Even Kmet has enough experience to understand that the scheme is completely fucked when he scores two TDs and the very next game gets almost zero targets. Rome is a rookie, but he knows he’s a leverage receiver so why isn’t he being used like that? These are legitimate things that a decent high school coach could figure out. Waldron, apparently, cannot, so I give zero fault to NFL players that have easily recognized this and are un-motivated because all of their “bosses” are completely horrible at their jobs.
