Well, Tomlin put him in and wasn't impressed, so I'm sure he's available.
I think it's telling that the Steelers didn't put up with Fields' mediocrity. The Bears seem to always have lower standards for everything. Do you think a winning organization would have let Stevenson play the week following the Washington game? The Packers suspended Dobbs for bad practice habits, and lo and behold they won that game and Dobbs has straightened himself out and played very well since.

Quarterbacks don't make offensive lines better. Where are those guys always circle-jerking over the "trenches." They've got the right idea (about trenches, not circle jerks, those seem really *** ...) . . .
Brees, Rodgers, Brady, Mahomes and other great QB's make their lines look a better than they are. They do this by getting rid of the ball quick, changing protection schemes and audibling out of bad plays. Bears paid a lot of money for an average LT in Bushrod. Luckily the Bears didnt make too much of an investment in Lucas Patrick.

Caleb was doing that earlier in the year.

Not sure what the **** broke in his head but he looks like a light skin version of JF1 without the running ability now.

Use your words like a big boy. You can call me stupid. You don't have to lump me in with the entire city. I think it's rich you have separated your own opinions from the rest of us. Great to be above it all.

Jordan came in and made everyone else better

Brady, Rodgers, Manning, Mahomes, etc etc etc. You want your golden boy(The number one pick in the fucking draft) to come in and make players around him better.

Fields at least made his o line look more competent than they were.

Hot take. Your opinions are so great, the Bears should sell the team because the rest of us can't get on your level? Fascinating stuff here.

If you make the same clueless claims about QBs the city likes to make you can get lumped in with the city who cheers loudly for offense and sits on their hands for defense.

Jordan Love? He sucks. That was all the organization just like it was for Favre who broke interception records yet they still won. Meanwhile Bear fans were shitting their pants about "almost interceptions".

Mahomes played one game as a rookie. Brady and Rodgers didn't really play as rookies either, if at all. Manning is the only one who started and he sucked as a rookie too.

Actually I'm going to guess your opinions are much better even if I don't agree with them since you're not on my ignore list and not a sock puppet of someone who obviously was. My guess is this is your way to punish those QB hating dumbasses by giving their stupidity back at them. Problem is you're punishing everyone.
There's a handful for formerly good posters doing this.

Got it. He couldn't beat out the Hall of Famer.

Russ got the Commies to jump offsides on 4th & 1 yesterday - good for him to get back to his HOF path. Fields is learning from how he operates and taking the good and bad from the first 6 games that he started,

Fields confidence will be fine going into next season given how it's working out. That's a real playoff team.

Wow!

Maybe Caleb's comp is Favre....Caleb will break all the sack records yet lead the Bears to the Super Bowl!

Best guess is they are overloading him with information making him overthink everything. Instead of easing him into it, they are throwing the kitchen sink at him....and he's sinking. How many RB or TE screens have they run this year??

There was some stuff out there that there's tells in offense. Pre snap the other team knows what's coming and we don't need to talk about the OL because it is what it is there.

I'm looking forward to where Fields ends up and I hope he gets another shot to lead.

I don't think a winning organization would've drafted their 4th DB in a rebuild (6 through that draft) while ignoring the great center draft that was there when they needed a center.
A winning organization doesn't skimp on protecting their most important player like this. But this organization has only just started figuring out they need that most important player and it's not a LB.

Exactly.

Russell was signed to be the starter, while Justin was acquired to be his understudy for a season or two.

The biggest thing that some people here are ignoring with Shefter and Macafee putting this out there, is that people within the NFL are beginning to label Caleb Williams as a bust.

And worse when he held the ball too long

That obviously hasn't gotten better with the change.
Perhaps there's another cause. Something like an OC who's in the ear of the QB who's arm they're enamored with.

Different OC too but if my rookie QB was big game hunting on his own I'd be drawing up dumps as the only read just like Bagent had. We've seen it with Williams too so we know he can, but most of the game it's 100% wait for 30+ yds to develop before going for the dump.

Perhaps we shouldn’t be comparing rookies with QBs in their 4th year? But I digress

It's pretty obvious by now that the problem hasn't been the players but the Bears. They are ruining careers.

Trying to will him to Indy into existence. That dude fits what Steichen wants to run perfectly and I love their WR core.
I want him to stay in Pittsburgh behind Russell Wilson and learn. Him being forced to play for a 4th different OC next season would not help him, in my opinion. I believe he will be prepared to be the long term answer for the Steelers next season or the season after, if Russ stays another season.
