Perhaps we shouldn’t be comparing rookies with QBs in their 4th year? But I digress

I'm definitely not one of those wanting to punish the board for Fields not being here.
Like Trubisky but a year earlier, not worth the coming cost to us. You have 3-4 years to prove it or go somewhere else. I don't care if it's the QB or the lack of offense.

The issue for either is why aren't (weren't) they getting the Bagent treatment if that's what they need? Benching behind Bagent isn't going to do anything. Call the dump offs so they learn to dump off and then pepper in some long balls when teams back off fearing the dump off.
I don't think this is rocket science and should be basic football.
If your young QB is holding the ball too long stop letting them hold the ball too long.

It's pretty obvious by now that the problem hasn't been the players but the Bears. They are ruining careers.
Flus/Waldron have called some of the dumbest goal line plays that I’ve ever seen in football, BUT Caleb has had plenty of receivers open with time in the pocket, but has missed terribly. His inaccuracy has been atrocious since the preseason, especially on deep passes.

The Packers suspended Dobbs for bad practice habits, and lo and behold they won that game and Dobbs has straightened himself out and played very well since.

Who is Dobbs? He’s not on the Packers Robin Earl.

That doesn't mean he's a bust. Frankly, not even the Bears can miss 3 times in a row on first round quarterbacks, particularly in Caleb's case. The Bears are the problem, plain and simple.

I'm saying Caleb holds the ball even longer.
They both hold the ball too long. I don’t know or care who holds it longer. Both have been unacceptable.

My only hope for CW is at least he’s still a rookie.

If he can dodge a wrench he can dodge a DE.

I just want to see the qb protected. For once, can we see a qb with a beautiful pocket and plenty of time to throw?

Cutler didn't have it
Trubisky didn't have it
Fields didn't have it
Caleb doesn't have it.

As crappy as Pittsburghs O line is this season, they are still better than anything he had in Chicago. And it showed. He still has a runners mentality but he looked like a better qb this yr.

Imagine Caleb and his ability with a real O line.

At first I thought this was the dumbest thing I had ever read. Then I thought "well if the line next week is Borom - Kramer - Shelton - Bates - Pryor maybe CW not enduring that again isnt the worst thing ever." Between the issues with those backups and the issues between CWs ears, Im torn.

Plus, the Packers going to be blitzing every down, successfully. So there isn't any risk that Bagent shows up the superstar.

The emotions by some on here every time somebody brings up the Bears 2nd quarterback is way beyond comprehension.
It's weird the status some elevate him to

I'm looking forward to where Fields ends up and I hope he gets another shot to lead.
If the Bears offered Pitt a 5th round pick, then started him the rest of the year, would they then get a 4th back?

If he isn’t a pro bowler by his second year he didn’t improve fast enough

So we have 2 QBs. Probably somewhat successful in college.

They come to the NFL and suddenly can't figure out how to throw the ball. But then there's more, Trubisky was the consensus #1. Cutler was a former pro-bowler. They also came to the Bears and forgot how to play.
Maybe, just maybe, it's not them, it's us.

And just maybe, as long as the Bears are unwilling to have a complete offense it will never matter who the QB is.
