It's all a master plan by the Rams and the Lions. Send Staff to the Ram for two years while the Rams are in a win now window, Lions pick up a shit ton of draft capital, retool the O-line and D-line, etc, eat cap for a two years, then in 2023 bring Staff back while a good portion of the players are on rookie contracts and they have a shit ton of cap.

I highly doubt that. I'm sure lions plan on addressing qb, but can't imagine Stafford back in Detroit. I think they both realized it was over and don't see it going back that way.

They parted ways on good terms so it's not out of the question. Depends on if the new management can actually build a good team, so far I like what they have done.

I am taking Goff over Dalton any day of the week. Only time will tell what Fields is, but i think he was a good pick.
Ehh I'd probably take Goff too, but I suspect that his success was largely due to McVay. Coach made it so easy for him to succeed and I'm not sure he'll ever reproduce his success with the Rams. Time will tell I guess!

I'd take Fields over both of them. He has the potential to be special; both Goff and Dalton have already showed that they're good enough to play in the NFL but don't have what it takes to be special.

No one that ever played for the Lions and managed to get out of that shithole ever comes back. Some even retire just so they don't have to play there anymore and some retire when they get wind they are being traded there.

So....no....Stafford will never wear a Detroit uniform again.

Yeah I really did like Sewell and think he can be a difference maker on the OL. I was also thrilled you guys didn't take fields and we were able to get him. I think if the lions commit to swift he is going to have a huge year and make the impact of Goff being kind of shitty negligible. It's not like either of these teams plan on truly competing this year, but moreso building in the right direction.

This is a joke right? You can't seriously believe that?

At this point in time so would I, but the answer could change in two years, time will tell.

Blah Blah Blah Blah. People that use past history as a means to predict what will happen in the future lack any real mental capacity to carry on an intelligent conversation.

Using your same logic, Fields will suck because, well, every other Bears QB has sucked.

checkmate......try again?

I say Fields is more of a risk then Sewel. Different teams in different situations, one has a coach and GM that are hanging on to their jobs by the skin of their teeth, the other has a new regime that has the benefit of time. Fields didn't make the most sense for the Lions, he did for the Bears.

But I regress, before Remy comes back all butt hurt, I was speaking of the Lions O-line, which should be by all accounts a top 5 unit easily.

LOL, no, I don't, but it is a possibility, and if you think of it not entirely out of the question. What is curious is Staff never re-negotiated his contract or signed an extension.....

I'm happy some of the names are different, but it is yet to be seen if they are better.

I do like the youth movement, but at the end of the day they will be measured on how well they can execute on Sundays.

You have to have more talent for a chance at better execution... and they have more talent.

I agree with you in principle, but talent is a tricky one to judge. The former players no longer on the team were still talented. They were talented enough to get recruited, get drafted and eventually earn a starting job/contract. The young players have 'talent' in the absence of experience. Weather the underlying performance is better is TBD.

I wouldnt say its rebuilt. Mistakes were made in the past on various positions, I get that. Yet its a work in progress and YES I think Pace took a helluva step forward in adressing the OLINE, with the tools he had.

Nevermind doing so while adressing the QB position with a kid who is at the very least going to be an exciting player.

I think Jenkins is a young John Tate waiting to happen. I STRONGLY believe that. Jenkins and Borom may be two candidates for the steals of this draft.

I thought last years team was better than its record and would have had a better record with better coaching.

This year I have that same feeling but more in line with how I felt after the 2018 draft.

I think the Bears have a team worthy of a 10-6 or 11-5 record with solid coaching across the board, hoping that Nagy doesnt seemingly go out of his way to make terrible decisions, as it did SEEM some times last season..

Pace has, I believe at the very least taken legitimate steps at adressing the 3 most vital spots on the line that I would focus on first foremost.

1) LT
2)C
3)RT

I know many will disagree with me on the vitality of the Center position but I believe that Center has become one of if not the most undervalued positions on the field.

You have these HUGE NTs coming out of college now, except they are now more and more frequently developing the quick twitch of a good 3TECH.

You MUST have a Center that can ball against these modern day NTs that started jumping out of their skin about 6-7 years ago and the trend is only growing. Tjese modern day NTs are like trying to block an adult Black Bear.

Im almost surprised that the freakish athleticism of these modern blie chip NTs isnt being talked about more.

I REALLY believe that if the Bears rolled with

LT- Jenkins
LG- Whitehair
C- Mustipher
RG- Ifedi
RT- Borom

...I think that unit right there & as written by years end will be a unit that the Bears are going to want to have locked down for a LONG time.
