Vitters playing 1B, error leads to 2-out run.

Though with a crazy high BABIP this month his AVG/OBP/SLG have all gone up despite the strikeout rate through the roof.

Really don't get why he isn't just playing 3B every day. I guess others need to get in the lineup too, but it does the big league club no good for him not to be getting every rep at 3B possible.

Baez apparently played today as well. Haven't looked up his line for today.

And it is on MiLB.tv tonight. So I get to watch this wasted 6 million. Seriously though while the results are far from encouraging at this point, I think writing off a 19 year old kid is a bit silly at this point.

He might end up being a LOOGY. In the grand scheme of things $7MM isn't that much in baseball money so it's not like they threw Vernon Wells money at him. Still time to fix whatever he's doing wrong, but the money definitely comes with increased scrutiny.

You're right most people were going to be disappointed with him because of the inflated price tag. His ceiling was always a backend of the rotation starter like basically every lefty in the system right now. The results being this bad so far isn't a good thing, but he has a little time to figure it out for the Cubs (clock has started on him though as you know since he has a major league deal).

Baez looked awesome tonight. I see the Sheffield comparisons with his batting stance now. He stole 2 bases in a row to move himself into scoring position. He is an exciting prospect, and one that I wouldn't be surprised to see move into the Top 50 heading into next season.

Ya, it wouldn't be a shock at all, given that he came in at 64 with only 6 pro games under his belt.
