If those players are 'untouchable', it is a waste of time even talking about Price then.

Where the fuck did I name any players that would be untouchable or make any claim that they would be? I just doubt the Cubs would offer Castro in place of more minor leaguers

I'll guess Castro has an error today.

Ironically, I'm posting error #6 while Castro just made a helluva play to (kinda) get the runner out @ 1st.

How did Castro's last error occur? I heard Len say he bobbled a ball or something, but never saw the play.

Did he have 2 in the game?

On a different note, what's with Molina trying to swipe two bags in the same inning? Lou Brock he ain't.

I am just glad he didn't catch Marmol falling asleep twice. I think Castillo had a lot to do with the pick-off at third base. Dumb on Molina's part as he was the tying run and it goes against all fundamentals of the game.

He had to range over to the 2B side of the bag from his spot in the hole on a very slow ground ball. Barney was backing up and had the wrong angle, so Castro was only chance to make play. He got ball in glove but muffed the transfer. Would've been a fairly close play. Tough error.

I have that as Castro's 7th error, but I notice the box score says it's his 6th. Was one changed to a hit at some point I'm assuming? Can anyone clarify that for me?

Had to be. Every place has it at 5 and MLB had the right to change scorecards after review.

Right - I'll have to search his errors and find out which one they changed to a hit.

I can't remember if it was the last error that he made that was changed to a hit or not, but there was an error that was changed to hit in game after a couple of innings. Pretty sure that game was at home.

MLB doesn't list an error for him on May 7th -- so that was the one that was changed. Good lookin' out.

Interesting parallels to last season in terms of fielding for Starlin Castro. He really struggled out of the gate in 2012 with 7 errors by April 21, which was only the 15th game of the season that year. From that point on he "only" made 20 through games 16-162. Castro again struggled out of the gate but was better with only four errors through the same date. Here it is game 42 in 2013 and he just made error number 6.

Don't get me wrong, Castro still has to get better and clean up the mistakes, but lets keep some perspective in the fact that his sixth error today moves him into a tie for third worst with Alexei Ramirez and Alcides Escobar, assuming no other SS makes an error today either. This is far from great, but this is progress compared to other seasons as Castro begins moving closer to realizing his potential on defense.

7 errors through 45 games = on pace for roughly 26 errors on the season.

Two errors in May. That's tolerable.

(Honestly, I think he's improving slightly on defense. Could just be me, though.)
