theres no way the suns open up next season with Bledsoe, dragic, and Thomas all 3 on the roster. Bledsoe seems to be their fav of the 3, so dragic or Thomas have to go by the start of next season IMO

if the options are trading him for value now or letting him walk in free agency in a few months for nothing then yes you trade him. now if you can move somebody like Thomas to free up the cap room and roster space to re sign dragic then go for it

They're obviously trying to move Thomas, but not getting any takers. Duh. How do you know Dragic wants to leave? He's got a $7.5 mil player option next year and his brother is still on the team until 2016. You keep repeating the same shit like no one understands, but we understand. No one knows for sure what the Suns really want to do. Plus, they still have the off season to make moves.

no shit Sherlock, it was a hypothetical situation we were discussing when you jumped in. and dragic on the open market will get much more than 7.5 mil and he will get a longterm deal instead of being on a contract with one year left. $$$ is the reason I think dragic opts out of his contract and goes to the highest bidder....but yeah youre right, money is never the reason guys go elsewhere or anything :facepalm2:

Man, you're a real prick with all the answers. Maybe he takes the $7.5 mil and plays another year with a better Suns team and cashes in the following year after the new tv deal money kicks in? Hypothetically, that is? :dunno:

I was agreeing with you. If they want to keep Dragic, then they want to keep him.

Teams in the NBA are very mysterious at times. The Suns are trying to use this to their advantage. Whether they succeed or not, is a different story.
Methinks if the Suns are going through with this strategy and that they fully believe Dragic will not only re-sign, but he is on board with floating his name. Thus deploying tactics to build around the players they would like to keep. Of course, now I'm just speculating. The rate of any report being accurate in today's media is very low, even from the best sources.

why on earth would dragic risk getting hurt on a one year deal for 7.5 mil when he could have the longterm security of a longterm deal?

Well, according to you, money is the deciding factor, and after next year, players salaries are supposed to explode due to the new tv deal with the NBA. This is the same reason Lebron signed a 2 year deal. It certainly will come into consideration when he sits down with his agent in the off season. Everything isn't so cut and dry as your mind is limited to. :dunno:

I agree, they've been all over the place. Now they're saying they'll take a future 1st for Plumlee. I wouldn't mind plucking Plumlee from them. He's 255 lbs and would give us another defensive big, and his salary is small with a team option in a couple years.

and you don't think teams are willing to sign a big contract this offseason in anticipation of that???

Don't know if it's the same article that you have linked here, but Deadspin just posted about this as well. Seems Goran wants Steph Curry-like autonomy to run the offense. Which means the Bulls aren't a player. He'll be in a Laker uniform by tomorrow is my guess.

EDIT: Or maybe the season plays out, but I don't know how well that works when you've already got one foot out the door apparently.

You are a narcissistic guy aren't you. The article states that he doesn't want to share the backcourt anymore. The Suns very well could get rid of Thomas or even Bledsoe in the off season, plus they can offer 1 more year with a 5 year deal. That would be more money, right?

You may very well be right, I don't care, I'm just pointing out other hypothetical scenarios, as you said originally. We'll see what happens moving forward. But I definitely wouldn't want him on the Bulls. The guy's a tweener.

Edit to add: Definitely hearing more about him being traded, however.

you would certainly not hesitate to point out you were right had you been, so you shouldn't expect any less from me. my point to you was $$ was the number one thing for him(as it is for most athletes) and the report is he is going to leave for a max contract and a less crowded backcourt.
if the suns were to find a way to trade away Thomas and then offer dragic a max deal, then yes the suns could end up keeping him because they can offer him more $$$...but again it comes down to $$ in his situation

Apparently Steph Curry.

I mean he certainly is no steph curry but the knicks and lakers would sure welcome him open arms and let him run the offense how he wants to

Probably because they'd be like "omg someone somewhat good wants to come to our crappy team"

Well with the Lakers he'd have to endure a year of Kobe. With the Knicks running the triangle with 'Melo, I'm not so sure that is a good spot.
