Well like I said I was at Maggianos for our Anv. Dinner, I could not resist but to step to the bar every now and then, my excuse I had to go to the bathroom. I missed all of our goals but I can't wait to watch my bro score the two goals. He is worth every penny. Still waiting for our captain to shed his teenage ways and start playing like a captain. Don't get me wrong, the guy is great and all but damm he is such a slow starter every freakin year. Other then that thanks for a great gift boys

Just got back from the after game party.

Seabrook and Keith once again had issues. First goal appeared to deflect off Keith. Second goal was off the third rebound. Either Corey needs to control one of those or one of Keith and Seabrook needs to clear the puck. Third goal was a strange puck that worked its way around the net, luck, and ended up behind Seabrook to the guy for the back door. 2 of 3 were rather odd in how they transpired. The second could be tagged on any of Crawford, Seabs or dunc.

I have yet to see the hammy hit but mcreary did not call it until hammy was mauled. There's where your captain stepped in acco. You must have missed that. Kotalik hit pisani in the head full dusted short after that, clear retaliation and not called. He also hit kane in the face later where Bickell stepped in.

Hossa, leddy, kane, skilled, Bickell all looked very good. Crawford.single handedly kept the w with 2 minutes left with 2-3 great saves. Only the second times since the HSBC has been built, 1997, that the hawks end up with the W. What a great time!!!! Great fans and a great building. Killing the 5 on 3 was the turning point of the game.

Oh you know that Stu already has your video review ready, but it's in it's own thread!

Pominville was nowhere near the puck yet, bad bad hit... and he SHOULD have gotten mauled.

And as described I sincerely hope he gets 3 games just to avoid a sickening incident that COULD happen next weekend when these teams meet again.

Really? 2 goals and you throw in the towel? Typical rosh.

They initially did not call it a penalty. Neither ref.

Give me a break. I wake up at 2am only to find the Hawks are already under by 1 with barely a minute played and still groggy they get scored on again, hardly something to get excited over when sacrificing precious sleeping time over. I still ended up watching the whole game, as I knew the the Hawks wouldn't lay down and had almost a whole game to turn it around. So there.

He had just been run into and almost lost the handle...it happens.

At least he had it on the ice which Seabs might consider doing once in a while. Seabrook was HORRIBLE (on ice and a major cause for all 3 goals against tonight) as well as the author of many other scary plays.
Agreed. Seabrook was pretty brutal.

He's been bad all three games. I love the guy and hope he's back next season but I don't think he deserves much of a/if any raise. And with the Hawks having to deal with the salary cap on yearly bases they're gonna have to make a tough decision because I think someone will back up the Brinks truck for him....

I really thought it was going to be a long night, and the PK stepped up big time. Kudos for Craw settling in after his D hung him out to dry 3 minutes in.

Having Hossa healthy early on makes such a huge difference-- also glad to see Sharp on ice. I'm curious to see what/if the league imposes on Hammer.

Marion Fucking Hossa! Monster of a game.

Skille belongs in the NHL. Most noticible player on the ice ootside of Hossa IMO. I look for him to jump up a line or 2. Anybody who doubts his ability isn't paying attention.

Don't think Hammer's hit was intentionally malicious. It was still a dangerous check. I expect him to get at least a game if not more off.

Leddy looks better every game.

Crawford was shaky at first but calmed down and made some great saves, particularly short handed. Nice game for him.

4th line was awesome again. Not missing Eager, Burish or Fraser at this point.

Fair enough but you should know the hawks ate never out of it. Seabrook did not have a good game but goal number one was deflected off Keith. And goal number three Keith could not get the puck long before the pass through Seabs legs. Not sure why they don't excell or fail as a pair around here. Complete double standard.

One of the dumbest things ever posted here.  Three games into the season and you're throwing Seabrook under the bus, forgetting that without him, Duncan Keith is nowhere near the player he is.

Here's a clue for you and everyone else that is showing even a modicum of panic:  IT'S THE FUCKING REGULAR SEASON AND IT DOESN'T MEAN SHIT!!!!

All that matters is how the team performs in the playoffs.  Once you win a championship, expectations are elevated.  The regular season is nothing but a really long preseason for the postseason.

Seabrook is a top two defenseman, and will be paid accordingly.

Does anyone have any insight as to what Brouwer has done to be demoted to the 4th line where Kopy is rocking 1st line duties and Pisani has been starting on the 2nd? I am by no means the biggest Brouwer fan, but he's proven he can score when the opportunity arises. He created space when playing w/ skilled players last year. Is his head just not in it (is his Dad ill again?) I just think he has more upside in regards to scoring that 82 or 15 provides..maybe it's just me, but i can't understand what happened here.

Other thoughts. Skille Stalberg Bickell and Dowell (to an slightly lesser extent) have been pretty impressive w/ their off the puck work. Bickell is appearing a lot more often on the score sheet than I would have predicted too. All very pleasant surprises and very good news for the future!!

This isn't true. You can clearly see the official at center ice put his hand up right after the hit in this video at the 1:30 mark.

Edit: can't figure out how to embed it, but that is the link.
That was after they went after Hjarlmarsson. Once Hjarlmarsson was mauled both McCreary and the other doof raised their arms. It was the first thing I looked for once I saw the collision.

Bickell has an awesome work ethic. First one over to preskate in the morning and on the first bus over to the game. Hawks have two buses at different times to get them to the arena on the road. Early and Late.

Brouwers Dad is fine, I talked to him for awhile yesterday morning. Kopecky goes with Hossa so there's the answer to your question. Once Q gets something in his head no one will change it but him.

Ya know, even though it happened to us now, I still stand by my assertion that if you commit a major or above (except for fighting since it takes 2 to tango), and the guy you commit the infraction to is out due to an injury you caused...you're suspended for the amount of games they miss.

Yes, I know that would put our D in dire straights...but still, bad, bad play by Hammer.

Seabrook and Keith, and the defense in general have started slow the past couple of seasons. Q looked to be double shifting both of them once Hjarlmarsson was kicked. Seabrook was out there with both Scott and Keith many times last night. Although the three goals against were all Keith - Seabrook.

Like I said the first goal Seabrook hung back as Roy brought in the puck, but the shot deflected off Keith. Not sure either of them get the blame. 2nd goal had to be the 3rd rebound Crawford gave up. Now shots from 5ft away are hard to control. Who do you blame the defenders for not getting one of the rebounds or Cory for not controlling one of them? Not sure any of them. Their third goal was real strange. So many sticks going for the puck it just seemed to trickle through Keith then was passed between Seabrooks legs for the back door Guy. Maybe Seabrook hangs back a little for the back door, but it was 100% Luck the puck ever got there in the first place.
