Okay fine you want my opinion on the game. Kopesky is the goat of the night if you want one. How many blown chances? Was frustrating. lol.

You guys seem to like finding goats of the night. There he is.

They didn't play as a team and some players were worse than others. My goat was the Stanley Cup floated around the building. It's a new season. Please now send that thing BACK to the HOF.

LOL. But its so shinny and beautiful!!

Was an emotional night for sure. Overall I think the boys looked okay for the night it was. Honestly it was hard to focus 100% on the game tonight as a fan. The banner raising was just that incredible. Time for TCD to tighten up and now get focused lol.

Congrats Ron. You and everyone deserved to bare witness to what was another amazing moment in Hawks history.

Here's a legitimate question... was anyone else turned off by Toews bringing the Cup out and hoisting/kissing it like it was June 2010? As it is a new season I wish they would have left the Cup behind.

I understand the banner ceremony and everything... but that just seemed super off-color to me. Am I alone?

Thanks! I think we all deserve it. I do think those following them longer got more gratification out of it. The woman in front of me was in tears (STH's for 40 some years). We were all in awe. When the old guys passed it to the new guys. When JT skated out with the Cup (which some one blew for me and told me that was happening during preskate) completely stunning! To think the Cup has NEVER been skated on the UC ice in front of fans by ANYONE in the history of the building!

To watch the banner slowly go up, seeing the other new banners waiting for it. Just WOW!

I thought about that, but they are the Champs until someone else wins it. 50 years the fans deserved to see the Cup on UC and Blackhawk Ice. Now it can go away. I heard there was one more thing with the Cup on Wed. night. I won't blow the surprise and who knows, maybe they change the plans now I don't know.

I guess I didn't mind it. Seeing it on HOME ICE was amazing.

What I find weird is him pairing with Toews and Hossa... It just didn't look like it worked, and I don't know why. Toews didn't really look like he fit in well with either of them, and that's just my opinion. But, as we've said in the past, lines gel and take their sweet time.

My favorite teams
 1. Chicago White Sox
 1. Chicago Fire
 1. Chicago Bears
 1. Chicago Blackhawks
Many Blackhawk employee were wearing their championship rings last night, and letting fans take pictures and try them on.

I nice touch by the Hawks on a (mostly) special night.

Now, put last season to bed and get to the task at hand.

BTW: Playing without two core players tends to hurt teams.

What game were you watching. It was John Scott that had the blow out, not Brouwer and Skille was possibly the best forward on the ice.

And the 3rd goal putred on Turcos part, but the chance NEVER should have been allowed.
Yeah it was Scott - sorry. Skille looked very good but never seems to finish ya know? Always has nice looks at the net but just doesn't score. That was beef with him the past couple seasons. He skates fast and looks good but it seems a million moves to nowhere to me. Hopefully he has a breakthrough season with more ice time this year.
Well guys you heard it here first... season over, the Blackhawks won't win a game this season with this awful HUETLIKE goaltending.

**** Turco that SIEVE! He totally should have used telekinesis to keep Scott from falling on his ass for one of those goals.

0-81-1 here we come!

lol..........................................
I'm not jumping off any cliffs anytime soon, I'm just seeing some characteristics of his game which worry me.

His 5 hole seems weak, he seems slow to cover the posts, and if theres any sort of a scramble after the initial shot he flops to the ice to perform a snow angel like its going out of style =)

Comparing him to Huet I know is premature because I do think he is better than Huet, particularly in the mental department.

I thought it would take the team awhile to gel and thats obvious. They seemed to have forgotten how to pass the puck, and its gonna take awhile for them to find the right chemistry.

Turned off by Toews skating the Stanley Cup on our home ice?? How can you say that? The Finals ended in Philadelphia - can't we have a few minutes with the cup in OUR building?

And how is a banner ceremony 'off-color'? I found the whole thing extremely moving and emotional. I don't see how you saw this as all negative.

I know its only 2 games in, but im not satisfied with any line. with some small changes I think it could be alot better. If we gonna dress the same team and when Sharp is back, go with;

Brouwer Toews Hossa

Bickell Sharp Kane

Stalberg Bolland Skille

Kopecky Dowell Pisani

On the D I think we have to ride it out untill Campbell is back, but pls Q put scott 9in the pressbox...

Was there a hockey game last nite?

Many years down the road, i'll be bring my little grandson to his first Hawks game and tell him about the nite the 2010 Cup banner was raised to the rafters and how incredible it was. He won't ask about who won the actual game and what the score was, and I'm sure i won't remember anyway.

It was an incredible ceremony, and the emotions were right up there with the clincher and the parade.

The hoopla should fade fast now. Its still going to take a little time for everyone to get settled in and focus on winning intense games against teams that bring their A game to try to beat the best.

I don't look at missing Soup as any sort of huge loss right now. Most likely he would be playing at the same level as Keith, Seabs, and Hammer. Seems like our Dmen (and others) are going to need some time to get the juices flowing and the focus right.

Good to see energy from the 3d and 4th liners (e.g. Bick, Skille) not on the team last year. That will help throughout the season.

A soft goal to cost us the game in the 3d period going 5-hole between ugly red pads brought back some bad memories. But my hunch is Turks will be fine once he gets comfy with the new team.

You noticed that in Jacks NHL career? Jack needs more than 7 minutes a night, 8 games a season.

So, all the assheads booing Campbell tonight probably wanted him back after the lackluster PP tonight.

Sharp hurt. Campbell hurt. Hendry scratched. Quite honestly, I thought both teams could have forechecked better.
I didn't listen to most of the ceremony. Boo Campbell??? Idiots.

Since the Hawks have won a championship and can fill the UC, maybe it's time to cool it with the ceremonies.

It sounded like Sharp and Campbell were greatly missed, but throughout the season some key player(s) is likely to be out now and then.

Gotta laugh when I think about Savard being fired after losing a few a the beginning of the season.

Maybe Q will give Corey some playing time if things don't change quickly.

I sure hope you're right, Stu.

Like I mentioned above, I didn't listen to the entire ceremony.

I'm sure Stu is right. Nobody got booed. Except Bettman. And less obviously, McDonough.

What are you talking about?? Skille was possibly the best Hawk forward on the ice tonight.

And please don't put a "BUT" after describing Turco's **** up, there is no BUT. It was a horribly soft goal, one of the worst you'll see all season and that's all you can and should say about it.
Agree with you on Skille. He was definitely showing it tonight, but I would throw Hossa, Kane, and Bickell as the top guys last night.

As far as that 3rd wings goal. With a 'Hawk d-man several feet in front of him and apparently taking out any ice level shot, Turco was playing for a higher puck, as he should have. Too bad the reaction to the slow moving ice-level puck that snuck through was too slow.

Not really they were tied. You kind of have to score and actually have the lead to say that was the only difference.

Scott, what a horrible play. I never knew the blue line could jump out and trip someone. Was benched after that. Was most definitely a soft goal, BUT it never should have gotten that far.

Bolland on the point? Really? Q, I love ya, but if it doesn't work the first two times, it probably won't work the 3rd.

Stahlberg.. SHOOT THE FUCKING PUCK! He had the game tied had he shot, but alas he didnt.

Sharp has a minor concussion. Something strange because he skated this morning. It'll be interesting to see if he makes the trip to Buffalo.

Considering they are minus Campbell and Sharp tonight I thought they played a decent game other than a few gaffs. They must have hit the pipe 8 times in the past two games. Yikes!

JT, please get out of your funk before the usual 12 games to start the Season.

Kaner, awesome pass tape to tape to Bickell. I really can't ***** about Bickell not finishing because the guy has looked great both games.

Who ever said that about Skille, balls on. Q, if you have a player who's clearly playing well, give him some fucking ice time.

Q, lost this game for the Hawks IMO. Goofy fucking coaching. And yes I heard boos for both McDonough and Blunk, but Rocky the guy that hired and loves them, come on.... Not making Money... One fucking hat in Hawk Quarters, 45 FUCKING DOLLARS!!!
I baffled at Bolland on the point, and frustrated that he left him there for the game...Seabrook and Keith can do just find on D on the PP.

Totally agree that with Sharp and Campbell missing the team played well enough to win. Those two could have been a major difference in a better result. Hopefully Sharp is ok, but as my wife pointed out once one gets married they start to break apart, LOL.

Don't know how anyone can ***** about Bickell not being able to finish as he does lead the team in goals right now. Bickell is fine in the finishing department, IMO.
