I don't think I've ever seen Koci win a fight. Although, hes not the type of guy I'd like to fight on the street, on the ice is a different story. Its probably a combination of his poor balance that allows opponents to take advantage and beat his face in.

I do admire him though, and feel bad for the guy. Hes an awful hockey player, no doubt, but his willingness to go out there and embarrass himself every night... probably not easy on the soul. It takes some guts to be the end of many, many, many jokes.

I'm sure the millions of dollars he's made for being an awful hockey player and embarrassing himself allows him to sleep at night.

Look at it this way, if he wasn't doing that, he'd probably be shoveling shit.

Yeah it's hard to see a role for these type of guys anymore - it's just seems old and outdated to me. Although still somewhat entertaining I guess. I still prefer the fight where's there's cause and reason. One guy that comes to mind is Seabrook - he doesn't fight often but when he does it's for good reason and he's really ticked off.

Like RK once said... the stars like him in the lineup, so until you lace them up your opinion matters not.

Jesus... John Scott hasn't looked as bad as some of the people getting paid 3-4x+ more than him the last 5 games.

I think there is a place for Scott, lately it seems like he can take the odd shift without hurting the team. If he keeps improving he can be pretty useful.

The bottom line is, as long as the locker room is more comfortable with him in the line-up rather than without him, I don't see why he shouldn't dress.

Koci on the other hand is a different story.

For me, it's not even about losing each fight, but the fact that he can't step on the ice for a regular shift.

Scott won't impress anyone in that category but lately I haven't felt like we are shorthanded when he is on the ice. Seems like hes actually involved in the play these days, where earlier in the season he was just a liability. Hopefully he can continue to improve, for such a big body they should work on a bit of positioning and see if he can block shots on the PK, considering Bolland, Pisani, and Hossa are out, what more could it hurt?

I wonder how Scott would fare against Chara. 513 pounds of man... would be pretty epic. Gonna have to wait til March for that though.

Scott has improved quite a bit. I heard that he's been putting extra work with the coaching staff to work on his skills. It shows.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
And that's the thing, Scott, Cullimore, Boynton, and hell, even Hendry haven't been the issue. Granted, I doubt any one of them will ever see personal hardware, but still, I think it says a lot about what ails the club with they have been solid and the ones who you expect to step up are the liabilities.

I'm not sure I'm entirely comfortable with agreeing with you, because I don't think Cullimore and the bunch have been consistent enough to really say they haven't been the issue or to say they have been "solid".

At the same point, I do think Keith and the bunch have been better for most of the season... but this is far from a compliment.

I feel like its the inconsistencies that are killing this club. Keith and the bunch can't afford to show any inconsistency, whereas Boynton/Cullimore/Scott/Hendry are expected to be inconsistent. Overall, the entire defensive core has been a liability, I think as long as the top 4 can show consistency, it doesn't matter how inconsistent the bottom pairing is.

That's a misleading photo, Stu. Koci fought Chara with an already broken nose. He buckled Chara's knees at one point in that fight, and if he hadn't had his beak re-busted, he may have come away with at the very least a draw.

also looking for a feed if anyone has one... apparently justintv/stoogetv now asks for a login as well as a password??

What a horseshit penalty on Hendry! You can't help it if a guy flies up and puts his face right where you are moving your elbow to. That was BS. Bad bad bad call by the refs, then they give him highsticking to boot? That was his glove that contacted Winnik's face you idiots!

**** YOU VERY MUCH REFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hendry did NOT elbow, highstick, or anything else. What a ginormous failure by the refs. This better not be a game changer, assholes. I have no problem with a tie, I don't need to see 50 goals in a game like the other night.

WTF!?! You can't have a goal if an offensive player is in the crease and making contact with the goalie. What the **** ever happened to interferring with the goaltender? Did they take that shit out of the rule book??????

Thanks Refs for fucking us again!

Well that's game.

So frustrating when a goalie shows up then the officials call a penalty improperly. It was an elbow Pete. That's not the issue here. The issue is calling the penalties when it happens on the play. Not after a guy dives and lies faking it. NHL officials have become sappy...so pathetic.

PK was pathetic too. Sigh.
