Yeah I really think this is the year to move Campbell. Not bashing him but I think Campoli does the same for a lot less money. With Leddy stepping up I think some team will bite on Brian maybe Toronto? Then we need to toss a lot of the 3rd and 4th liners. Smith really looks promising he should get a shot. Should have some money to get some good role guys. Is Ladd a UFA? Love to see him brought back. What do you guys think about keeping Kopy? Might be okay for a good price.

Right. That contract with the same actual salary as the cap hit. With a No Movement Clause.

Put the crack pipe down.

I realize it's pretty much impossible, but it's the truth. That contract is going to be the biggest thing holding this team back over the next few seasons. No doubt about it. In a couple years I could see Campbell getting "Redden'd" by the Hawks. He is just THAT overpaid.

Lol, they should just try winning a game first!

So, off topic, but did Lou just stare you down during warmups tonight? Or did he say something back to you??

We definitely had a moment. Priceless. He laughed back. I told Glass Obrien paid me my hundred bucks. He laughed.

Would you trade Redden for Campbell straight up? I'd do it in a heart beat.

Absolutely. Because Redden could stay buried in the minors. Campbell, however, counts against the cap.

I'm not a fan of the type of player I've seen Stan targeting thus far in his tenure as GM. I'm hoping he'll bring in the right guys next season for the third and fourth lines, but my gut tells me he's clueless.

Yea it sounds racist, but get fucking Canadians to be our centers, Europeans are simply to soft. Bolland, Fraser, Toews i Dont give a ****, Canadian win. Europeans dont. Fucking get some grit plu stalent and we'll win again.

Disclaimr, Its mu 21st birsth day, so i cant stand the foreigner when down 3-0 to such a team and city.

Also, Frolik, Stakberg, Kruger, huge downfalls of this team when compared to last years cheap Canadian players.

Not sure what game you were watching but that was definitely a questionable call. It was a make up call for the four PP's we had already been given.

Scott is no where near the reason this team lost. I give you more credit than to type something that dumb.

For the umpteenth time, I never said Scott is the reason we lost the game. Read my posts. His dumb penalty swung momentum...period...end of story (season). That's not the reason we lost. We are losing because we are not the better team.

I felt that the momentum was swung once Q called a time out on the 5 on 3.

The PP didn't convert, then wasted the 5 on 4. If either of those convert, then the game goes to the Hawks plain and simple.

The Hawks have been less than stellar with the 2 man advantage, and last night was the final nail in that coffin.

[edit] I read all the 5 on 3 stats for the league, so please refrain from regaling me with those inane stats.

Couple things I did notice during the game that I don't think were pointed out by the announcers (of course, I keep the volume down pretty low)....Samuelsson hooked someone right before a faceoff, knocking him down...with a ref looking RIGHT AT HIM. And Toews was clearly tripped right in the slot during one of the PPs....again with a ref looking RIGHT AT IT. His legs were clearly taken our from under him by a stick....plain as day...

I'm sure these were not isolated incidents during the tame, but merely confirm that the nucks are asshats....as are the officials...

Pack it in, call it a season. Team is spent, but their leaving it all on the ice every game. Have to respect that.

Have to respect Loungo as well, he's stolen these games To many scoring chances point blank he's robbed.

Torres deserves 10 games IMO, doubt he'll get it. NHL refs/officials/Bettman/Campbell suck balls.

Time for retribution was on the ice last night.

Hoping for a win in game 4, but this team is spent, won't be surprised by a sweep.

I don't know, but this could be the best thing that can happen to the hawks next to winning the cup again. Who knows if we advanced and lost in the later rounds would be address issues that matter. Hopefully this series will open some eyes and focus on plugging the right players and the right spots. One issue like mentioned is getting some inforcers and grind out players like ladd and Buff. I don't think we need much, as expected in the beginning of the season. I like our youth, just need a little more tendering in the AHL. As for Smith this guy is going to be awsome next year. I am very very excited for next year. We are getting even younger while other teams are getting older.

Gotcha... Althugh I'm not sure were losing because of that either. I'd say we are losing because we are beat the shit up. I can't remember seeing a Hawk team this decimated at this time of the year. Up and down the line up guys are playing that if this were during the season they wouldn't be.

I'm actually looking forward to these guys being able to get a full off season and rejuvinate their tank.

I read someone call them "gutless" last night. They are leaving everything on the ice they have. Anyone remember the last time Toews took a slap shot, yet he had 24 minutes last night. Kane skated for over 26 minutes last night. Seabrook get's clocked twice, returns to the line up and on the ice. Far from Gutless.

Have to say that last night's game was the first of the series that the Hawks deserved to win they gave it their all and with the amount of PP's it was handed to them on a plate but Lou was pure quality (**** that hurt to type). It's very hard to take after last season but its obvious this teams running on empty and Vancouver is a far better team right now. Will really suck if Mike leaves in the off season but was bound to happen at some stage, seems like a great guy and deserves a shot at being head coach. Stan really has his work cut out over the summer as so much dead weight has to go.

As far as last night, the Hawks played their guts out, as I think they have all series. Luongo won that game last night. PP wasn't even that bad - Luongo robbed them during that several times.

Three things will be the reason why VAN advances. Luongo, the Hawks not scoring on the PP, and VAN's experience is showing. The Hawks the last few years have taken them to school on what they need to do to advance, and they've become good students. They're more disciplined - Kessler most notably, and their players are battle tested.

I realize the Hawks are beat to hell and its a factor, but its hockey - not soccer. And 80% of the league doesn't give a shit about your problems/injuries, and the other 20% are probably happy you have them. The vets in the lineup are playing hard and the guys getting their first taste of playoffs - this will go a long way. I've ben impressed with Leddy and think he's a guy this is going to help most. His puck carrying has gotten better in the playoffs it seems But the fact is, right now they're beat up.

On to next year and who to move/what they need. Do not downplay this year of experience these guys got playing together. Frolik, Stalberg, Kruger, Leddy, and Smith will contribute more next year. Campoli for 82 games if they keep him as well. Hawks have had over 350gms played by rookies this year. Rookies. Smith and Kruger pretty much zero regular season games/minutes are playing big minutes in this series.

They need a second line center. Someone capable of putting up 60pts. Someone to play with Hossa and render him effective. Chances of trading Campbell and getting that player are pretty slim. (Scooter will be a genius if he can). Soupy has his NTC so him listing his 8 teams...and one of them willing to give up a 2nd line center for a salary dump is pretty slim. Redden was buried because he sucked more than overpaid. Campbell doesn't suck and has value to this Hawk team.

I don't think they will be able to trade Bolland in the offseason, due to his concussion. But he is the salary I would like to see moved. I know this will get ripped, but I think Sharp is the guy that can/may be moved to get that second line center. His value is as high as its ever been after putting up the numbers he has. Even with his 70pts, this team finished where the did. He's going to be able to get 5-6mil on the market and they will struggle to be able to afford him. Getting a true center to play behind Toews may make this team overall better. Toews will have less pressure, you may be able to get consistant scoring out of Hossa. Down the road/into next year if Bolland shows to be healthy, then they can move him for more wing depth and plug Kruger into the 3rd line center role.

Centers are hard to come by in the league and Sharp may be the chip they have to give up to acquire one.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Honestly, I think Hammer will be the chip to move for a center. My worry about moving Sharp, especially before the trade deadline, is getting the full value that he brings and to not lose in that trade, the replacement personnel will put us over the Salary cap.

Hahah, I just woke up and read that post. And I still somewhat believe it. Mainly the role players, Canadians just fit the mold perfect.
