It really is kind of crazy all this talk about him being "terrible" or a "bust."

If you told everybody before the season that he would be projected to finish with 3,500 yards passing, 21 TD's, 6 INT's, ~62% completion %, a passer rating of 88, and another 450 yards rushing, we would all be over the moon with that kind of production.

The fact that their head coach and special teams ruined 4 unbelievable comebacks, in which Caleb almost single handily brought them back in the 4th quarter, significantly tainted the way people feel about his performance now, which is incredibly stupid.

A lot of fans are irrational. It’s always been that way and will never change. There are plenty of 49er fans that want Shanahan fired. That’s crazy.

Caleb has shown flashes of brilliance and has struggled mightily too. That’s exactly what should have been expected.

A better coach wins the Washington game easily and has this roster in playoff contention.

Caleb never quits and has had this team in games to the end almost every week. He definitely has the clutch gene and is tough as nails.

He has never once been on the injury report.

I want them to prioritize building a wall around him. It has to be objective one. Everything else is secondary.

And yet that player is basically exactly on par with Caleb Williams stats-wise.
Stats don’t tell the whole story but you only use them when they’re convenient

To be fair, neither of those QB's were watching their team go down 20-0 in every first half then just slinging around garbage yards. This offense/team is worse than that 3 win fields team.

He also makes mitch trubisky look like an elite deep ball passer, since he overthrows guys downfield even more than mitch

Neither of them were also oblivious to pressure like Caleb is.

The last two are the biggest worries since everyone said caleb would be a drastic instant upgrade at both. Dudes sack to pressure ratio is horrible, which points to the QB being responsible for a lot of them. He also is the worst downfield passer in the entire NFL, even mitch wasnt that,

Its clear he has much more arm talent and physical tools than both of those guys combined, but right now if he doesnt fix both of those issues he at best will be a meh NFL QB. My other concern is due to all the sacks he's also now starting to miss open guys and not processing the field as well.
Id argue his issues are correct able while the previous two qbs issues were severe lack of talent to play the position

And as for garbage stats.....neither of those guys could even do that.

And this team is vastly superior to the god awful 3 win fields team and it's not close....they've been mismanaged out of 2-4 wins and essentially gave up on the season recently once they got their way and the hc was canned.

Still think they can win 1 more home game the next 2 weeks as Det is banged up and defense sucks and sea off a short week + Christmas + travel + not all that good is ripe to be beat.

One plays in a division with 2 mid to awful teams, and has had an easy schedule with the benefit of his organization tearing itself down, only to properly build itself back up the right way . The other has a dysfunctional clusterfuck of an organization that rivals maybe only the Browns for incompetence the past decade.

One is in playoff contention with one of the most efficient offenses in the NFL and makes teams pay with his legs a lot more than CW.

But I forgot on CCS, ppg is not a QB stat now and nor is W-L record. Love how this changes every year.
Always remember this….QB’s get too much blame but they also get too much praise.

Stats not telling the whole story is my point.

Daniels and the Washington offense is much more efficient and overall performing MUCH better than Williams and the Bears offense.

And yet....

The two QBs have almost the exact same stats.

This makes me hopeful for Williams' future.

Nearly-on-par-with-Daniels'-ROY-bottom-line-stats-despite-being-in-a-trash-heap-of-an-offense appears to be Williams' floor, which, uh, is still pretty darn good?

Not sure what stats you are looking at, but OK!

"Cool. I guess you can't read the numbers I posted. Any type of efficiency number or advanced metric favors Daniels heavily. 10% higher completion percentage, more yards in 75 fewer attempts, almost 15 points higher in passer rating, 1.5 yards per attempt higher, almost two yards higher in net yards per attempt. The Commanders are 6th in 3rd down % and the Bears are 31st. But I already mentioned that.

Not saying that Williams is putting up bad numbers, but to think they are comparable to Daniels is ludicrous."
They are literally comparable. Check out the original post. Their bottom-line stats (Yards, TDs, INTs) are nearly the same.

Who are you arguing with? No one is saying Daniels and the Washington offense haven't been better than Williams and the Bears offense.

The point is that despite Daniels and the Washington offense being much more efficient and better, the two QBs still have nearly the exact same bottom-line stats. This potentially bodes well for evaluating Williams' floor and ceiling.

How did Caleb Williams do against the New England Patriots?

Holy shit this board is filled with idiots.

You take away the 60 yard hail mary and CW has more TDs and almost equal yards...
Caleb has 70 more attempts, is less accurate, has a lower YPA, QB Rating and QBR and his epa is probably light years worse lmao

Take away Jayden’s rib injury and it’s probably even worse for the generational qb

You are purposely ignoring other key factors like Sacks, amount of passes, who is on the team, YPA and other advanced metrics. Daniels has been out performing Caleb even while injured

Caleb is 29th in completion % in the nfl. Jayden Daniels is 4th. Drake Maye is 9th.

Not ignoring them at all. I have literally said multiple times that Daniels and the Washington offense are much better this year than Williams and the Bears offense.
