Once Darren Dreger and TSN reports it, its pretty much a done deal - no need to look any further.

Bummer they lose their first round pick (I know, 30th) in the year of the first ever draft here.

The draft in Chicago is next year, 2017.

That addition piece of Matt Fraser can just replace as a body of what Dano was in Rockford so they don't need to really call up some crummy Indy player. But the Harrison addition is odd, his cori-against the past couple years is completely awful, so I don't think he's a piece that seems to fit with the club outside of a 8th defender. Depends on if they still have cap/offers to get Hamuis now.

They usually go the lazy swap the numbers route so potentially 61.

Still a shame Desji isn't wearing 69 which he could of chose coming here as he did wear it in San Jose for a period of time.

Well, this team went from very good to very, very good.
Time to start pulling away from the pack in the Central.

I don't know too much about Dano but I know they were high on him, what did we lose there?

3 goals and 17 assists this year as youngest player in Rockford. A little bit under sized, would hit hard but took a toll so they sent his young body down. Wasn't always in the right spot, still had two left hands skill wise.

We lost 2 promising players for a far better player right now today. Looking at this team, and the short window with hossa, and the stacked farm at all positions...it's more about what makes us best right now today. Worry about tomorrow tomorrow and keep this thing rolling as long as we can. I'm in. I get it.

I'd love if we could trade Shaw in offseason and sign Ladd. Unlikely.

Bowman was quite complimentary of Dano in his press conference:

That's a shitty reason to be disappointed in a 20 year old still adjusting to speed of game and getting stronger.

He's 21, if we're splitting hairs. I had high hopes for him, too.

But I keep going back to this thought whenever the Hawks trade away a young player: how many of those young players have thrived elsewhere?

He wasn't at any point adjusting to the "Speed of the game" that's a nonsensical way to interpret him.

The only thing I didn't like of seeing Dano play his game though in Rckford or here was he was TOO willing to throw his body around. As in he reminds me of Brouwer in many ways. Decent at finishing & smart enough to bring a 2way defensive effort but takes way too many hits after the guy passed away the puck just to "finish the check" and lay some punishment because you know humans can't withstand that many hits. Then like Brouwer, Dano didn't have the speed to keep on pace after taking a hit like that so he hits himself out of position.

I get he wants to show he can be a good all around game player with effort but he does too much of it for it to work on an NHL level.
