In elderscrolls games, I think arrows should be way more powerful but more costly and rare. I always thought it looked ridiculous when you have to shoot a bandit with 7 arrows before they go down, laying there with their arrow ridden corpse. Although now I pretty much one shot everything with this character with arrows.

They've attempted to keep it balanced somewhat with the hand to hand weapons and offensive spells in Skyrim. You can already reuse salvaged arrows and they don't count for weight carried to keep them on par with virtually unlimited melee hacking (unless you drop your mace/ax/sword down a ravine and don't have backup). They're already ridiculous in the sense that I'm walking around with over 2,000 arrows of various types which I never use. I'm just saying make the weight meaningful for all the Green Arrow and Hawkeye wannabes. If you want realism, let the player max out his archery and then let them get stuck in a reeeeeeally long mine or ruin with only the arrows they could realistically carry in with them to start and no way of replenishing once they're inside. Similarly, have a quest to get a grail or something in a castle or palisade with no way for a tank to get into until they've killed all the archers manning the walls and emptying chamber pots on the player's heads or something.

played the walking dead demo. Clunky mechanics but after learning about it, could be worth the 20

Keep seeing it on PSN and wondering if it's worth it... might just have to get it to tide me over until the new season. Although ultimately, I think I'm waiting for the Doctor Who one.

I was debating about getting the walking dead game. But most games based on movies or TV have a history of being terrible and flagrant attempts to simply cash in on the brand, just like most movies based on video games are shit.

I think the only franchises that have had good games as well, were Jurrasic park (genesis) and star wars....but the latter has also had its share of stinkers. There may be some i havent played that are good, but by and large they suck.

I have seen ratings on the Walking Dead from 8.0 to 6.5. From what I read in the reviews it is has its flaws but is a decent game.

I typically like Telltale Games and support them via buying their products but this one will be a torrent for me

It's decent in theory, the mechanics of actual game play were my only complain. It's really a high action fast paced game it's more of a choose your own adventure book with the backdrop of the story with a sprinkle of action and Nancy Drew. The characters remember the decisions you make and the things you say (which are timed to make you not think about it but to react the way you instinctively would) and it alters the game into future episodes. It allows for different play-ability each time you play based on how you respond and the decisions you make. The demo was short but it definitely had potential. The problem I had was the left analog stick was for movement of the character, and the right analog stick moved a cursor like pointer around the screen for the action parts. so it got a little awkward and took coordination. 5 bucks per episode of 20 for the season pass which gives you 5 episodes and some extras like a theme I believe. I'll probably get it once more episodes come out but right now it's only 1, and it will drive me nuts to have to wait.

And by the way TSD... looks like you needed 3 guys to kill Ulfric... Pussy. haha.

You are actually forced to fight 3 on 2. Its a ridiculously easy fight because of it. You cant bring followers into this fight (ss was after the fact). But Tullius and Legate Rikka are there and you fight Ulfric and his top general. I dont know what the final fight entails from the other point of view. I assume its the same, you ulfric and the general fight tullius and rikka.

Mostly I was just giving you shit, I haven't gotten to the end from the other side yet, I'm afraid to progress too far for some reason cause I don't know what it's going to do to some of the other main story lines.

I will tell you this. There is some purging that goes on when the war is over. So you may lose some quests if you dont get them done.

Yeah, that's what I thought, I have been holding off on finishing a few of the more major storylines because I don't know what it will break.

Its just with Particular Jarls/stewards that are openly supportive of one side or the other. So once you complete all the court quests, for each city you will be ok to finish it. The civil war has no impact on the main quest unless you dont finish it before you attempt to finish the main quest (you have to play diplomat and get both sides to agree to a cease fire via land concessions and stuff which actually impacts the civil war missions when you do complete it later)

so what im saying is, I dont think theres any way to do it all in one playthrough, you are going to miss out on something because of something you do.

What's the red graph thingy above your head?

lol its not a graph, its a head plume. If you look closer you can see the metal rod connecting it to the helmet. Its custom Roman Armor a modder made to replace the standard legion armors.

Good to know it's just the standard Jarl BS, I think becoming a thane of a city is the most boring. Can you do it for all 9? My game is broke and the guy in Winterhold keeps sending me on the same mission to retrieve a helm and when I do he's like sweet then forgets he sent me and asks me to go find it again.

Plus he's mostly nekid, what'd you catch him while he was making a late night sandwhich? Look, if it's just a case of looting his bloodied body then what the hell are you doing striking a pose? Is that your stripping corpses touchdown dance?

I kind of envy you and Havok for starting over, I maxed out Smithing and Enchanting easy enough but ignored Alchemy. It's not as easy, if I were doing things over I'd just pay for tuition to max that out earlier. Right now I'm letting myself get knocked around in Light Armor trying to level that up then running back to home base so one day I might be able to make extra strength elixers of enchanting for my Daedric power armor and swords but at the rate I'm going I'm going to have enough Daedra hearts bought from the local apothecaries where I should have a ton left over. I know there's an alchemy cheat but I haven't tried it yet, it seems unnecessary since I can already cast destruction spells for zero magicka and have enough apparel slots with double enchanting to have really good defensive and one-hand weapon bonuses when I'm not using my repulsers.

Apparently elder scrolls online is not being well received. Its not being done by the same team that does the single player games. I have a feeling its gonna be a disaster. I just dont think there is really room for anymore "fantasy" MMO's. Unfortunately I feel this is the way gaming is going, Every company wants that monthly subscription cash cow now.

"You gotta be shitting me. This looks like a beta screenshot for Morrowind," Jara said. "Warcraft has pretty lousy graphics by today’s standards too, but this looks… after how gorgeous Skyrim was, this looks like an insult," he said.
