Watch dogs looks good, and it's in chicago so what's not to like... other than the fact that it will probably drive me crazy because it's not accurate enough and I'll be walking around going bullshit, that's not there in real life....

Killzone 4 looks nice... but it ended there for me. the demo didn't show me anything special other than point and shoot. And the graphics don't really seem that much better than current gen. It's all in the details and shading now instead of vast improvements. It'll get there when developers catch up, but I haven't really seen anything that made me shit my pants it looked so good.

Except maybe drive club, which was fucking beautiful... except, I'm not that much of a social gamer or a racer so it probably won't be for me.

The expansion of all this shit onto tablets and such is going to drive me nuts if they force you there instead of it being a peripheral... I love the push to play on the vita, might make me get one eventually, but I wish they'd have made it so the vita can be a controller like a Wii type controller. So far, I really like it, lot's of features I could give a shit about though so i'm not sure I like it. I hate the social aspects taking over the experience instead of it being about the game... it will come down to price. I'm saying it will be a loss leader at 499.00 because they majorly fucked up at 599 for the last one.

I'm kind of excited about the PS4 as well - anyone heard about backward compatibility?

And from what I've read about Watchdogs - they stressed trying to make the Chicago layout as accurate as they could. Does sound like it'll be a pretty cool game - just wish I had more time for gaming. I've had the first "chapter" from the Walking Dead game on my PS3 for ages and still haven't had a chance to get to it.

Played the demo for the new GOW, but it being predominately a beta for the multiplayer, I didn't really get into it. Rather just play the story for that game.

No native backwards compatibility but most ps1, ps2 and ps3 games will be playable via the cloud.

Boo! I get that making platform gaming better involves a lot more technical mumbo-jumbo than I can understand, but I feel like one of things that made the PS2 so successful was the fact that your old games weren't basically garbage if you picked up the new system.

I think moving forward it will be much easier to make it backwards compatible. Meaning PS5 will easily play PS4 games since they moved to x86 PC architecture. The problem is they completely changed architecture so they would need a ps3 system inside a ps4 to play old games.

From what I saw of the watch dogs demo, and read a couple odds and ends, it looks very good and intriguing, but the city layout is not very good.

Servers are working fine today. EA just like every other fucking game maker cannot figure out how to launch server based games

Thing is you should be able to play it offline as well. I've always seen those games as ,more single player anyway.

I don't mind that you have to connect to their servers and by mid next week all the server issues will be a thing of the past. Went through the same thing with Diablo 3, I think it took them a total of 3 days to hammer out their servers and I actually didnt have an issue after the first day. Just sucks that these companies know of well publicized launch issues and do not seem to learn the lesson from it.

The game itself is fantastic and I've sucked at simcity since 3000 and up and I can play this game and make a very good city right off the bat so they manage to tell you what needs fixing. The global market part of the game is where the real money is made. As for the social aspect of it, I haven't really dealt with it much outside of one guy sending some ambulances and fire trucks to help me out. No collaboration on a great work yet but I built my city up extremely fast and though I was the last to the party my city is the biggest of the bunch.

I can see working with people you know could be a really fun experience since between yourselves you can focus your cities to help each other out and everyone makes a **** ton of cash.

I can't really give an indepth review outside of if you liked the other simcitys you'll like this game.

Yeah that's all good and fine, but there should always be an option to be able to play the game offline.

Who says? Frankly, I'm sick of hearing people ***** about having to connect to servers. Who fucking cares? The game developers don't seem concerned with losing sales due to lack of internet connections. Most people who play games are at least rocking DSL. So what if you have to connect to play. It is a Special person argument.

Uhhh no it's not. If I buy a game, I don't want to only be able to ever play it as long as some, at the very least, untrustworthy company like EA decides to keep it's servers open. If they shut them down, that's it. You spent the money but you can't ever play it after that. You can't play it if they have problems on their side, you can't play it if you have problems on your side. Unless they change it to where you can play offline, which again, should've been in from the start. The online only DRM business strategy is a bullshit, short sighted money grab.

But there are plenty of complacent people out there so you're right, you're hardly alone. And the game developers who dupe those people of course won't be concerned as long as they continue making money hand over fist. It doesn't make it right.

How are they untrustworthy? As for the shutdowns last I heard Ultima Online servers are still up 15 years after release. The problems on their side will go away just like it did with Diablo 3. The thought that the game should have been offline isn't really up to you. And the online only DRM is pretty much the best way to stop pirating. And I'd know about pirating as I have pirated many games.
