I have the 250 gig, and it filled fast. I'm still convinced that somehow Fallout New Vegas destroyed my system and it's ability to handle saved filed. I don't know how to switch out the hard drive. Do all I need is the saved game files and the game data files for anything that I've downloaded? I'd love to back that up on a backup drive, and then factory restore the system. But I'm afraid to **** it up.

You need a 250gb external hard drive that you can plug into the usb port and then you can back up your whole system to that. Install the new hard drive and restore from your backup. You have to make sure your new hard drive is FAT32 formatted, which many come that way. If you look on newegg you can find ones that people buy specifically for the PS3.

I have a 1.5 terabyte drive that I've used for backups in the past. Is it as simple as clicking back up, remove replace harddrive and then clicking restore... It will boot up fine with the new hard drive in? I'll have to figure out how much they are... Might be worth it since I won't be buy a PS4 for at least a year.

750gb for $70. It's also 7200rpm which will help a little with load speeds.

Some games you have to redownload content. I know Rock Band is one of those game, which is a major pain in the ass if you have a lot of songs. Other than that, everything, including save files should restore seamlessly.

I will say that, the ps3 HDD upgrade is much easier than the Xbox 360 upgrade.

That hard drive I posted will work. Like Supra said, just has to be a laptop HD (2.5").

The old system is actually even easier to get to the hard drive. Seriously takes less than 5 minutes to swap the drives. The longest part is backing up the system and restoring it.

4 70 bucks I'll just go ahead and get it. I hate that I just did 2 days of downloading to have to spend all this time swapping out. haha. now if I don't **** up the processs. I saw a bunch of people online saying to delete then back it up, I didn't understand that part at all. I will just turn on system, back up system, swap HD, restore.

One thing, your 1.5tb backup drive has to be fat32 also. If it's not, I'm sure you can easily find someone to lend you one. I think you can also partition that 1.5tb drive so part of it is fat32. It's a little harder to do, but download swissknife for your pc to do it. Makes it much easier and it's free.

Couldn't you just plug it into windows as a secondary drive and format the whole thing as Fat32

You can if you want the whole thing to be Fat32. The problem is if you can't have any files over 4gb, which is probably rare, but if you have any long videos it's a possibility.

I have some videos I shot myself that are larger than 4gb. Also, you can't use windows disk management cus it will shrink the drive down to 32gb. You have to use a 3rd party program.

I bet those are just placeholder prices. The $60 always seemed insane to me. Especially since most of mine don't last more than a year before something breaks.

I wonder what the wear and tear will be on the xbox thumbsticks, I liked the redesign but that is the one thing I fucking kill is the grip on the sticks. Hockey, FIFA, and actually borderlands 2 fucking murdered them
