It's not whether I was to get one, it's whether I want to get one cheap that is new but the older model. It had a better screen but not as great a battery. Or do I just want to hold out and wait for the new model to drop in the US and get that. It will probably be more an have a LCD screen that isn't as good, but it will be slightly thinner and lighter and much better battery life... I want it.. I just am having a hard time pulling the trigger and having buyers remorse cause the new model. If they had the OLED in the new model I wouldn't hesitate but they are dropping down to an LCD for cost and presumeably battery life? I don't know do OLED take more batter than LCD?

Yeah, I can't help you there. I would probably go with the better battery life, but what would be even more important is if the new one has faster load times. If it does then I wouldn't even think twice between old vs new.

EDIT... FML again, came back into stock and I got it, plus a starter kit off Amazon and Persona 4 Golden. My wife is probably going to kill me so I won't even get to use it, anyone want to buy it all cheap when I'm dead? Saved a shit ton though all together.

Wow... miss your pill this morning Dante? haha. Does anyone here actually have a vita? I'm curious because 2 16 GB cards are cheaper than 1 32 GB card, but can you just swap out memory cards like that or do you need associated files and stuff when going to play another game? I got a 4GB card with my starter kit and that will be good for a couple of games but I know I'll need to upgrade eventually and I just don't know if swapping cards is feasible or if there are system files that will need to be on each card that make it difficult to just swap memory cards in and out for different games?

Bioshock DLC is out today.

That was the first thing my wife wrote to me on Face-Space.

Now, go bow down to the one you serve.

BAH! Stopped taking them... :)

Mind you this is only from what I have read, I do not have a Vita...

One of the things Sony is good about is being able to upgrade the storage devices of this equipment. It looks like you can do backups to your PS(x) and/or PC as well. The Vita, like the PS(x), holds the "o/s" on board on the Synergistic Processing Elements, which are like coprocessors. Vita works the same way but on a smaller scale.

Meaning, you can replace the storage as needed since there are no system files stored on the removable media. With PS3, I can run games and such from mem sticks to replace and remove as I see fit.

She doesn't hate them, it was more about spending money when I've been saying we need to monitor it better.

Excellent, that makes me feel better about getting the starter kit for $20 bucks that has the 4GB card in it. The card is like $13 stand alone and if it's just a throw away if I upgrade I wouldn't have wanted to just get a bigger card, now it looks like I can use both. The starter kit came with a case to hold cartridges and I assume I will just put memory cards in there. I have set up my camelcamelcamel alerts to monitor the memory card prices. While sony may be good at this type of thing, they fucking blow my dickass balls fuckface nuts for having proprietary memory.

I was actually trying to see what the difference between a game on a cartridge and a memory stick is. Seems they are different. It would have been cool to have them put games on memory sticks and just find some old ones on clearance and use them as memory sticks but alas I don't believe you can.

And you HAVE monitored it better! Look at all the work you are doing to save HER money! You could have just paid full price later, but no... you look to your family first, over your OWN needs and getting an older version. To me, that is conservation at its best.

Exactly. I mean, I've waited for price drops, mega sales, discounts, bundled bargins and put it all together in one well researched purchase that I believe saved me about 55 bucks off retails if you took everything individually? Would have been $65 except RadioShack charged me $10 in tax...

199.96(Vita)

29.99 (Persona 4 Golder)

39.99 (Starter Kit, not each piece individually. Case, Cartridge Holder, 4GB card, screen protector, Unneaded headphones but they fit the case I had for my old sony headphones perfectly, cloth for wiping screen)

169.99 (Fucking Tax online? What is this shit)

24.96

20.72

215.67

Thank you. I will bring it up at our next staff meeting. haha. I probably would have been better off not getting the game too but 1.) I've heard it was the best game on Vita period, bar none, and even if it's just a remastered PS2 game. And 2, I was worried that even though I have a shit ton of Vita games already through PS+ I was worried that the 4GB card wasn't going to cut it and I'd want some back up and stuff to play while those are downloading.

That reminds me of another reason I was frugal in getting it. I have had PS+ for at least a year now and have been accumulating a lot of Vita and PSP games through my membership and if I don't have a Vita it's like wasting money that they are giving me for free games. It's my duty to take the utmost advantage of every free product that I am given right?

We have similar conversations at our house and then I went bought $600 worth of new triathlon gear. Of course, I had to cancel my PS4 preorder, but realistically I won't be able to really use it for awhile anyways.

Hahah nice. I didn't bother pre-ordering it. I think this generation is going to need a little time before it's sorted out and stable. They are trying to jam too much new stuff into these things that no way are they up and smooth out of the box. Plus I have too much PS3 content and not enough PS4 content to want one right now. I'll wait till it's a solid product with a title that I must have.
