You can thank the pussification of the fans...putting pressure on the NHL

There hasn't been any suspendable plays in the playoffs - yet there have been several already

I'm sure he will be

Thank you pussies.

I do not think we will be suspended. If Carter would miss any time, then I think thats fine. But no way he will get suspended. I see a fine that the very most.

I think he will. He has a prior record (elbow to Sedin's melon two years ago).

I hope I'm wrong though

If Carter is going to slash at ungloved hands he should expect to eat carbon fiber/wood.

Ref's should've called both penalties, Carter's slash and Dunc's retaliation high stick.

And that no call on the icing as time was running out was brutal.

My favorite teams
 1. Portland Timbers
 1. Chicago Blackhawks
In this edition of "What Went Wrong":

[*]Starting with the elephant in the room: Keith, there is no excuse EVER for putting the McSorely maneuver on someone--no matter how bad the infraction was missed. You were lucky that you only got a double minor out of that and you'll be lucky oif you come out of it unsuspended. way to hurt the team and show you're so worthy of wearing that "A"
[*]Speaking of wearing the "A". Sharp, it's not your job to get into fights. Remember what happened the last time you did? Kopecky beat you down like you were Reginald Denny. Hasn't the team had enough of it's leaders losing their cool on the ice?
[*]Q: Bickell was great with Toews and Hossa, and yet you go what, 2 periods with Saad back there. Okay, yes, we know that it's nice to reward a player by giving him some top-line icetime, but 40 minutes? Haven't we proven that it something isn't working you don't engage in an excercise in futility like Wile E. Coyote hoping it will work? Besdies, it's not like Bickell/Toews/Hossa hasn't been productive, after all, that line did score the lone goal.
[*]Speaking of 2 periods of mediocrity, it was nice of the team to show up after 45 minutes.
[*]Most of the line pairings that we have out there featured players that have played together for a sizable chunk of time, yet how come they were making passes like they had no clue where the other guys was going to be? Is jet-lag really a hell of a drug?
[/list]

I don't want to take anything away from LA here--they are strong at home and played a very good game, but it looked like our boys were nowhere near top form--with the possible exceptions of Leddy, Hammer, Bickell, and Crawford. However, 4 guys out of 20 showing up is not going to win the series. Get hungry for Thursday!

That wasn't McSorley at all

He went to swing/slash him on the side/arm...but he lost control of the stick. Completely different.

It was the same as Brown's swing/slash to Hossa.

Saad goes out with Toew/Hossa in the D zone...because 1-he can take draws if Toews gets kicked out. And 2-he can get to the points/shooters faster than Bickell if Toews loses the draws.

Most disappointing player of the playoffs so far for me is Kane. He's got all the talent in the world and may be the most skilled player on the ice and yet all he does is float around and wait for it to come to him. Go get the fucking puck and make it happen. He's had some of the greatest passes and plays but next to nothing from him generating it, just waiting for the puck to come to him. I don't care about any of your retorts or stats... i've watched it with my two eyes every game.

multiple chances, as I said above I counted 5 prime scoring chances right on the doorstep. Not only could they have tied it, but they had every opportunity to snag a lead. Either they turned their game on or LA was rolling over in the last 10 mins.

...and there were 3 or 4 occasions where there was one pass too many. Get the puck on the net for rebounds. Worked at the end of the Wings series and the first two games of this series. And as we saw in the second game if you score early on Quick, he gets rattled and even gives up goals without traffic in front of him, Shaw, Seabrook, Handzus, for example.

Have rewatched the waived off icing at the end of the game and saw no Hawk touch it.

Bet Carter won't try slash Keith's hand when he's going to pick up his glove from here on out. Great no calls by Walkom on Carter's cross-check/slash of Keith's back followed by his attempted slash of Keith's hand.

Hawks should go back to a loaded line in LA for game 4.

Sharp-Toews-Kane.

If Keith gets suspended I'm gonna be fuckin pissed. He spent more time in the box than Carter did getting stitched up. And Carter started the incident.

Keith deserves whatever he gets. Sucks Carter isn't going to miss some time too.

So who replaces Keith?

I totally agree - I like 4 out of 5 plays he makes but you never know where he's going with the puck.

The big plus in this game is LA didn't look like a Stanley Cup Winner going 4 PP minutes with one shot on goal.... Pick up the pace, Hawks.
