Peavy was decent but not bad for first game back in a month or so. Ramirez played well so did De Aza.

Phegley had 3 more hits and an RBI. He sparked us today. Nice to see him take charge of the position. Even made a nice throw throwing a guy out

Watched the video on espn.com about the Sox trading chips. Said we have the best and most pieces. Rios, Dunn, Ramirez, Beckham, Danks, Peavy and bullpen arms. We should be able to add some quality depth in our organization this deadline. I prefer to keep Beckham who looks to be coming around while maturing as a player.

Maybe I'm a homer but I like the pitching pieces we have for the future with Sale, Quintana, Santiago, Jones, Reed.

Hopefully Beckham keeps playing well and is the player we expect. We need Viciedo to develop and someone to take charge of the catcher position. So far, it looks like Phegley is the man for the job. And FYI Tyler Flowers sucks donkey ass.

I like De Aza at the leadoff spot still only 29 and has really turned it on lately and has good power. I'd like to see us go after Jacoby Ellsbury if he stays healthy the rest of the season. I wonder what kind of a contract he'll get. If we clear some more payroll (Rios, Dunn, Peavy, Konerko) we should sign this guy.

After KW - and since Hahn is a KW student - I'm not just going to assume that whatever prospects we actually get in trades will actually pan out. I hope I'm wrong but it is the skeptic in me.

Meh... what is there to like about Beckham? 2 HR, 13 RBI in 166 ABs. Doesn't steal bases, average defense. Kinda useless as an everyday player IMO.

He is hitting around .340. Maybe Micah Johnson develops he has great speed and is hitting well. His defense isn't where it needs to be but he just got to triple A I believe so well see

He won't hit .340 for the rest of the season. His BA will regress back towards the mean, eventually. The more important stats are runs, RBI, and HRs... all are incredibly aenemic given the amount of plate appearances.

Ya his power and rest of his numbers isn't there. But who would be a realistic upgrade? Beckham is still only 26 and is maturing.

I don't like Beckham but realistically, there are much bigger problems with this team. Added to the fact that he is young and he probably wouldn't bring in a big prospect, I can think of 6-8 other people that should be traded before he is.

RBIs are flawed. OBP/OPS/HR/OPS+

One positive, at least the teams that are "interested" in our guys, have good to solid farm systems.

Ya that will be good. Hoping to get Peavy to STL for someone. Then Rios and Ramirez to PIT for Alen Henson and pitchers

I'm getting excited kind of. It's like a new era finally.
