AGREED! I will sometimes just straight up skip the workout when that happens. Hate the 2 second drop and 10 minute clean-up.
Too much information.

Another driving WTF, like a few others on here I drive a high end, souped up muscle car. Knowing the traffic around here in DC, there are very few times you really get to "open it up" and drive the car as it is capable of being driven. On a 3 mile stretch of posted 25mph road through old Alexandria is not one of these places. Anyway, I was doing about 35...yeah I know what I said, but to make the lights that is what speed you need to do, anyway some jag-off decides to climb on my ass to try and speed me up. All I could think was "Seriously, you think climbing on my ass is going to speed me up?? Leave home altittle earlier you fucking dumbass, maybe you wont be running late."

Oh, i love this. You get some yoyo who runs up behind you and yeah, brake check them...but what I love is if i'm cruising a rural road (50 posted out here usually), and some nimrod starts tailgating my ass when there's a double yellow--and I mean tailgating so that you can't see their hood or headlights.

So I slow down to about 25. At least within Washington, i'm good with that unless therer's a posted minimum (in which case I do that), or if more than 5 cars line up behind me (usually if there's more cars than the assclown I go back to the limit). When they finally get a passing opportunity, usually they whip around and proceed beyond 20 over the limit...and once or twice a cop nailed them.

Yes, i'm a bastard...I know this. But I won't break the +5 rule I have and riding up on me is not going to make me go faster...plus, *I'm* not the one in the hurry.

I dont actually brake check them, I just turn my lights on, that works the same. The other thing I will do is drop a gear and squeel tires, that works too.
Film vs Digital...

Just reading an article in the August issue of Wired magazine, "History Exposed".

It focuses on a panoramic Daguerreotype of Cincinnati taken in 1848 - yes, that is correct, just ten or so years after the first photo ever taken. Now here's the neat part - this picture has the resolution of 140,000 megapixels. That's not a mistake, or an exaggeration. The picture could be blown up to 170X20 FEET without losing clarity.

Here is the picture :

http://codex99.com/photography/images/r ... ama_lg.jpg

NOTE: it is not the resolution of the original!
Quick aside back to this: Yep. the old wet-plates and Silver photos had insane resolutions (Considering the best Digitas are around 20MP and the one above is 140GP). In fact, convenience is the driving force behind a lot of consumer goods. Wet-plate went to dry-plate and lost some resolution. Dry-plate went to large format film; lost resolution, Large went to small, small went to 120, to 35mm, to polaroid, to digital. But on that, A lot of nature magazines and others that do panoramic and landscape photography; they don't accept digital, 35mm, ot 120mm. 4x5 film is the minimum they accept.

But again, right tools for the job. Imagine lugging around a wet-plate camera for your vacation snapshots...

But back to that vent--don't think because it's an old technology that it's inferior. Just ask any car enthusiast--9 times out of 10 at the track a driver who knows what they're doing with a stick will beat a driver with an automatic.

P.S. BHC...what's your ride again?

My WTF for today took place in the grocery store. A little redheaded boy about 4 or 5 years old tore a banana off one of the bunches and ran down the isle to where his mom was bent over and acted like he was shoving it up her butt. She took it away from him and he ran back to the bananas and got another one and went back up to his mom and did the same thing. This time she took it away from him and told him to cut it out. He replied: "Why that's what daddy does." I found it very disturbing about what kind of stuff this kid witnesses.

But the bigger question that came to mind was does Eruns have a son we don't know about.

That does make you wonder if the kid walked in on them and saw something they didn't want him to or if they just don't care what he sees.

Well I in fact do not, however when ever I'm at the grocery with the woman, I usually grab a cucumber or the 3lbs tube of ground beef and walk around with it between my legs.

Something seen on the internet:

"'Rick Moranis Heaven': Apparently, it's heaven but where everyone is a different Rick Moranis character."

Ponder that for a few minutes...
