Maybe. I don't see him moving on Torres or Jiminez but you never know. Now Vogelbach, Candelerio and Zagunis or something like that I could see.
It wouldn't bother me if Torres was included..

id be upset about Jimenez mainly because I like his play and think he going to be exciting to watch

I'll throw a fit if Thed gives up Torres. I'm fine giving up Voglebach and Candelerio but we have to keep Torres, Happ and Eloy.

all I am saying is I hardly ever heard complaints about soler playing the toughest outfield spot in Wrigley field last year. Sure, bot Soler and Schwarber showed problems out there in the playoffs, but balls travel alot differently when its cold. As soon as Heyward was signed all the complaining started happening of how terrible a fielder soler was. I was planning to see him throwing out some pitchers and catchers at first base on singles hit sharply to him. A 184 million dollar signing brought out all the people complaining. Even so, the previous consideration was that Bryant would end up being the right fielder anyway, so I really do not see it as Heyward took solers spot, the bottom line is if Heyward was not signed, Bryant might be the everyday right fielder too and his bat and glove would be out there every day for alot less than 184 million now.

There were people on this board who rightly stated that Soler was bad in RF, and he was. Soler has a strong arm but he is well below average defensively and him and Schwarber in the same outfield would be brutal. OF defense is very important, just ask the Padres.

Heyward stated last season that he didn't like batting 2nd. If you look at his BA by position in the lineup, 2nd is his worst spot. I know people look at his OB and that he is a lefty and think 2nd is his home. He has been better in the 5/6 spot. He should probably bat 6th for the Cubs. I think he will be better now that he has moved down in the lineup.

Also if you thought he would be gunning people down from RF, you should stop playing so many video games. He has been tremendous in RF and I think he has been one of the main reasons the Cubs ERAs have been where they are. He saves runs all the time; especially when you accurately remember the OF defense last season.

So, no one wants to trade Baez, Schwarbie, Contreras or Russell and you want to keep the best prospects (Torres, Happ and Eloy) So, what do you expect to attract in trade?

Yes, he is a big boy. Who said he wasnt? But, he isnt Fielder and he can move. He is built like a linebacker. I dont know about you. But, they move pretty good. Thanks for the pro tip that he is a big boy doe.

Edit: He also moves better than Holiday.

He moves better than a falling apart OF, yes. He is not like a linebacker. He does not look like one or run like one. I get you think he will be fine in the OF long term. I am not sold. I do have a pro tip for you though........don't take asshat pills every day; maybe just twice a week.

I would trade Vohlebach and Soler for Mike Trout and Almora JR for Miller.

The whole thing though, is you cannot keep everybody, so will the guy ever play here. I know we need to watch Heywards opt out years and hopefully fill his spot with Jimienez, but you are looking at alot of prospects with no positions right now. We will lose Villanuevas late inning glove if he ever comes off the DL from the broken leg, he needed to be on the roster like Sczcur this season. Torres is not going to take Russells spot and its a fair deal for Miller. The final two weeks before the deadline, everyones name starts getting added to see if something sticks.

Its great the yankees want Vogelbomb, he is more AL DH than Schwarber and is just a bench guy here. Even if Rizzo gets hurt I dont think he comes up. Pretty sure Bryant, Baez and Zobrist would handle first.

That is why you will win GM of the Year

Totally. That teams win a WS in 4 games. Its ridiculous that Rickets is going to pay Thed Hoystein like $30M/year when I could do the same job for like $75K per year.
Trout will be an upgrade over Fowler. I would consider trading Jason Hammel for Coles Hamels, too.

Heyward would be insane to opt out. Who on earth would pay him $20M/per in his current state?

Why would anyone assume that Heyward would ever have a year like this again? Even if he does improve down the stretch this year is going to be a statistical outlier for him. He will almost certainly have his lowest fWAR of his career this year barring his injury plagued year of 2011. Guys rarely change their trajectory at 26 years old. I fully expect him to bounce back to his .265/.350/.425 numbers and a 4 plus WAR next year because that what statistics show us will happen. I think the wrist injury combined with coming to a new team did more damage than anyone knows.

Not my business as your retort was not to me but I think that would be "you're" and not "your" when you're calling someone dumb. Makes you look, well, dumb. No charge on the edification.

Thanks for the grammar lessons. I never knew that. It was an over sight while using a phone.

I am a big Schwarber fan, and would love to see him in a Cubbie uniform for the next 15 years.

But i am no fanboy, and within reason i would look to move anyone and everyone including Schwarbs and go balls-out to optimize our 2016 WS chances.

We have an abundance of movable assets and tremendous cash flows in a league without a cap, time to push the chips in.
