My favorite teams
So much push back over a possibility. It's been stated many times that it would be a similar option to WR 3. No one here said we SHOULD draft a TE in one. We can just see the justifications if that happens. My point was that Loveleand is a better fit for the diversity that BJ tends to prefer. He used a TE as his WR 3 a lot in Detroit and also used 3 TE's in blocking schemes. Doesn't mean we need to take one in the 1st round but don't be surprised if we draft one.Ben Johnson already said he's going to build the offense based on the strong suits of his players. The only guarantee is that we will run the ball a lot, but I'm not sure we need guys who fit the mold of the lions skill players.
Feels nice to (hopefully) have an offensive mind who understands you don't fit a square peg into a round hole and instead evolve your scheme to what the players strengths are. The years we had these geniuses like martz who would say they cant work with a certain player type are hopefully long over.
Laporta had 726 yards last year. He's not a primary blocking type of TE. He did a lot of 3rd WR stuff. Again, It doesn't mean that's what BJ will do here but if he takes a guy early I doubt it will be Warren.
