Wada has very little future with us because of age. He is a depth guy at best here

The pitching staff gave up 4 runs total!Wow... the lowly Cubs just swept the mighty AL East leading Orioles...
Ok.. sorry didnt know i needed to be specific with FA pitchers...Wood and Jackson are good as gone, imho. They don't need to sign "1-2 FA". They need to get two TOR FA, which is more specific. In the off-season they are likely to get only 1 of those in 2015. Now, if they would happen to grab Maeda, who CSF77 finds of interest, then having Wada and Fuji around would help him adjust to US. Now if Turner can turn it around, maybe some things change, too. They have a lot of pitchers who came over in trades at the AAA level, not just RP.
No kidding. So you're casting off Wada already.Ok.. sorry didnt know i needed to be specific with FA pitchers...
maybe im wrong but there only 2 legit FA TOR pitchers available in Scherzer and Lester..
There no guarantee that the Cubs are going to get either one because im sure there gonna be other teams that are in better position to win now that will be willing to pay them good money.
Outside of TOR, who are they going to sign that can do better than a healthy, 35 yo Wada appears to be able to do at this point? But to the point being made above , the cubs are most likely going to try and sign the best available FA starter they can to fill a spot wheather its a TOR type or not to go along with Arrieta and Hendricks. They have plenty of other younger starters to choose from to fill in the 1 or 2 remaining slots to where if they recieve a decent trade offer for wada they could accept it if they want without worrying about who gonna fill his slot.
Fuji isn't a FA. There is an option on his contract the club can pick up, IINM.as far as Maeda goes, I havent heard much about him except when CFS brings him up.. but IMO you dont hold onto a player that expendable just to help another player adjust to the states.
Fujikawa a FA, I doubt at 35 they bring him back for the pen

nope, just think that IF they received a trade offer for him they could easily accept if they wanted to because they have enough depth to replace him..that all :yep:
first there no guarantee he continues to be this good next year...
they don't need to sign anyone to replace him in rotation, they have enough depth within to fill his role..
the FA signing whether its a TOR or not is something their most likely going to do to help solidify the rotation and depth..
.
ok, I just saw 2 yrs for 9 mil.. id still be surprise if they kept him mainly because of depth in pen they have now
look im not saying they should trade him, I just said I wouldn't be surprise if teams asked about him this off season as a trade piece..
I don't care if he stays or not..lol
The Cubs can be a "playoff type team" next year, if they get a TOR. Why would they trade him when he can fill a void for another year until a second TOR can be found in FA in 2016?
They are treading water just above .500 since Baez got the call up, which is wiithout Bryant and Soler, both of whom, even as struggling rookies, will be improvements over what was there at the beginning of this season. You go get a real TOR. The rotation/pen keeps this team in it early until the bats have more experience and then it comes down to the stretch run as to whether or not they are in the playoff hunt or not.But the TORPs are really not what this team needs. Yes, it will be nice to get the rotation better and I'm all for that, but pitching is not this team's problem. It's the offense. Our offense sucks. We need to get Bryant, Soler, etc. up and producing, which I do not think is going to happen right away.
Turner...it will be very interesting to see if he can find it as the season heads into September. It would be a promising sign for the rotation next year.IMO running Lester, Arrieta, Hendricks, Wada, Turner.
Trade out Wood and Jackson.
Later season if they are contending they could look to upg Wada's spot. Now if the rotation is holding up then get into bidding for Price with Wada then at 35 YO. He will be 34 next year. It is not like he is over the hill yet. He has a year or 2 but then again Nomo, and others had long careers. Nothing says he can not be effective into his late 30's.
No. In al parks nl gets to add a bat. Adv nlDH. AL pitchers auto out never bunting. AL managers have not clue how to manage NL style. Clear advantage to the NL. Same for the AL. Legit DH vs a toss in bat.

This makes no sense. Typically, a national league team isn't going to invest the same money in an extra bat as an American League team would. So this bat that you're referring to is more often a situational player and often a back up player. Asa consequence, American League teams are less reliant on small ball scenarios and have more chances at bigger innings as a result.

Can't tell if this is serious
