Whatever you did or feel, it's late. I am the originator of the David Montgomery hate. Sorry not sorry.

I bought his jersey just to burn it when he was drafted. Sorry not sorry about your fake Monty hate.

You could also make the argument that the Bears didn't kill themselves with penalties. Pretty encouraging tbh. Feels like a trend, albeit a small sample size.
Absolutely. Hard make that comeback if they consistently shot themselves in the foot. 49ers lost their shit and reminded me of the naggy bears when they kept making dumb ass penalties. We might not have the top talent on this team but the discipline goes a long way.

This looks to be a better scheme for Herbert IMO. Monty seemed to dance into the defender after his first carry of the game
Every scheme between Monty and Herbert is better for Herbert.

It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish. The only disappointing thing here is that this thread was created.

Does Fields need to be better? Yes. What he did unlike many previous QBs in Chicago was that he kept at it and took what was in front of him. I didn’t see him crumble mentally which at least gives him a decent chance of being a success in the NFL.

The #mush has spoke

I expect a 10-0 start
I expect you’ll be wrong again,
It is way better to be a "meatball" sports fan than what people like you are. You were probably angry masturbating the whole first half, weren't you? (don't lie)
What do you mean by “people like you”?
I didn't think they looked good, especially offensively. Lots of room for improvement obviously.

But, they showed some grit. Week 1, new staff and systems on both sides of the ball, against pretty good talent. I will fucking take it.

My prediction initially was like 3 wins before the draft / FA, adjusted up to 7, still feeling pretty good about that number.
You’re giving them four (4) more wins after viewing just one (1) game?

I've liked Monty at times, this wasn't a good matchup for him. But if Herbert's pass blocking is up to par, I'd roll with him going forward. He seems way more aggressive running the ball...even last year.

He's far more explosive. At the very least, he should be the two down back.

@Grimson I agree that it was a very disappointing win. They only won this game because of the weather. The more the Bears win, the more unlikely it becomes that Matt Meathead is fired before he completely ruins Justin Fields.

Yes he should.

Was conditioning an issue with Patrick as the game wore on? Saw Jenkins in the 4th quarter. Then, Patrick on the winning formation

Meanwhile Pat Mahomes has 3 TDs in 1st half.

Cool that the Bears won but it was probably one of the worst NFL games I've ever watched. The Bears had zero reason to win that game and the 49ers beat themselves with over 10 penalties and just poor playcalling. Lance played almost as bad as Fields as well.

The two silver linings I have is that Brisker looked good and EDDIE JACKSON IS BACK. Brisker was all over the place.

Santos needs to be cut immediately.

I was also impressed with Herbert carrying Fields on his back, Montgomery did nothing.

Enjoy this win because there won't be many more coming over the next 16 weeks.

Need to look ahead and draft a QB in 2023.
Go F yourself.

Can't say, I was streaming the game and it wasn't the greatest. I was lucky to see as much of the game as I did

I revised my prediction from 3 to 7 after the draft / OTAs / TC / preseason. Thanks.
