Boynton, Scott and Morin all idiots for fighting and giving STL momentum.

Hopefully then, Boynton gets better...because apparently as he - a 5th Dman making 500K goes, so does the Hawks. They'll go as far as he takes them.

Really? Didnt look like it to me. Janssen held his own and felt good enough to go for more.

I thought Scott definitely won, but Janssen did a respectable job hanging in there and giving him some late bids.

Scott beating up a minor leaguer against LA makes him the biggest bad ass ever.

Bryan Murray on the fight -

Murray said he was impressed with Westgarth's willingness to play through his broken nose, as well as his willingness to take on Scott, something not many enforcers have tried.

``That’s a lesson for all of us to take,'' Murray said, ``to just go out and compete and battle hard and pay the price in order to get things turned around."

So I guess Scott helped LA get some momentum there, since it helped them turn things around.

Damn, so the Hawks will start friday's game without the momentum.

Sorry, but whether you agree or not, that's just funny...

They'll be "off" the rest of the week... their wadded up paper shots will always miss the garbage can... busted sticks in every practice... that Lemonhead guy will be taunting Toews & Kane relentlessly... all because of Boynton's momentum-crushing fight!

Q - Bolland, you take a penalty 200ft away from the net, and they score with the extra attacker...

DB - I know, Boyntons fight threw me off.

Q - Crawford, you leave the crease in the third on an obvious icing keeping the play alive, where we could gained ice?

CC - I know, I was still thinking about why Boynton fought in the second period.

Q - Scott, in your own zone, you need to stay in your lane and in front of your Dman, so his shot cant get through

JS - I know, but I was in the area where Boynton got in his fight, and I started thinking of it.

Q - Bolland, 4 on 4, less than 3 min left, and you lose a faceoff cleanly - no one goes to the shooter and they score

DB - I know, but if Boynton wouldve kicked his ass, I wouldve been happier, and that momentum wouldve propelled me to victory on my faceoffs.

I get it now, what you guys mean.

Westgarth clearly lost the fight... what is LA to gain? The Hawks watched their teammate beat a dude to a pulp.... THAT fires the team up. I'm sure after Pez's game he'll be here to back me up though.... what do I know?

Accordng to Murray, it helped his team. So who got the momentum if both teams claim it?

Neither....it's over rated.

I guess none of these fights gave his team the upper hand... lol:

Although the enforcer is mostly dead... fighting and momentum is not...if you're playing a mens league game that allows fighting and your teammate PUMMELS the other guy, are you fired up or not?

No, I'd laugh at my friend for being an idiot for getting into a fight in mens league.

And when I was playing competively - and a teammate was in a fight and lost, I was never on a team that hung their head and thought - "Oh no, there goes the momentum."

How many goals were scored during those fights? What was the scores of the games at the time, and who ended up winning?

Who won the Hawks game tonite, even after STL got all the momentum twice - with 2 needless fights by the Hawks?

There is nothing to be gained from dropping the gloves, when you are beating a team 5-1. It isn't like he dropped them to defend a teammate. He didn't drop them to "prevent St. Louis hacks from taking runs at the Hawks" as you intimated in chat. He dropped them because the St. Louis player challenged him. Win, lose, or draw, doesn't matter in that situation. You don't drop the gloves with one of the other team's dregs, when you're beating a team 5-1. All you can do in that situation is give the other team something to build on, and a spark of life. It was stupid, and you seem to be the only person that thinks otherwise.

Oh, and congratulations on Kopecky finally having a good game. I'm glad you finally have something to fall back on to defend his awful play over the last 15 or so games.

As Keith goes so does the team no matter who he's paired with.

Bottom line, the Hawks run on Duncan.

I just wanted to say, **** you E, I'm not going to let this horrifically awesome pun slip by with out giving you shit! You should be ashamed... and appalled at yourself.

No problem. And congrats on being able to cry about Boynton - a guy you simply dont like, therefore blame for anything that goes bad. I'm sure the next time the offense falters, Kopecky will be at fault as well, because you dont see the good in any play, only there to point out the bad.

so much truth here, I remember in the playoffs two years ago against Calgary we had a 3 goal lead (I believe) and someone challenged Barker, and he just pointed at the scoreboard and went to the bench. Not a pussy move, but a smart one

''Everyone on the bench was really positive and upbeat,'' Hawks captain Jonathan Toews said. ''We really showed our team identity tonight with some of the fights and the plays that we made.''

What the **** does Toews know. He shouldve talked about how the fights hurt the infamous "momentum".

Seems the Toews thinks otherwise as well.....but, you and a few board members seem to think different....so he and I must not know anything.
