Ok please explain to me what is so appealing about people rhyming words over a sample beat in which the lyrics in most of these songs are only about very few subject matters. Most of the songs maintain the same tempo throughout the song as well.

How can listening to that be more satisfying over a song that includes tons of instrumental talent and complex song composition that incorporates many tempos and rhythms to a song.

soulja boy is what i would call pure rap

which is god awful

there's a difference between that, hip hop,and R&B and alot of songs have it mixed together

not all rap is bad...especially when there's musical parts and backgrounds to it....and the rhythms dont repeat a billion times...and its catchy.....

If you actually believe this, then you clearly don't know enough about the rap genre as a whole to criticize it.

"Tons" of instrumental talent? Really? Since when have doped-up fiends on stage flubbing their way through their own heavily-overdubbed originals become the definition of musical prowess? Or how about the easiest answer possible: they just don't like the sound of an electric guitar?

And don't get me wrong, I like Rock and many of its sub-categories, but it is clear you have an axe to grind not with rap music, but with what it stands for, a specific group of people that are responsible for making a good chunk of it and a specific group of people that listen to and enjoy it.

What is to talented about a bunch of loud ruckus and screaming into the mic?

Please leave this thread. Rap on the radio is shit.

Also there is a huge distinction between rap (shit on the radio rapping about rims) and hip-hop.

Rap is soulja boi, when Hip-Hop is stuff like Nas.

B.O.B, Fabolous and Jadakiss are the best out there. B.O.B's flow is absolutely disgusting.
