what i'm drinking these days is Little Sumpin' Sumpin, or anything from Three Floyds (america's best brewery).

Anchor Steam Christmas Ale - very nice

Delirium Floris Apple - one was enough... really sweet, like apple juice almost.

Saw an entertaining documentary yesterday call "How Beer Saved the World."

It definitely takes some liberties and stretches the truth but very entertaining and inciteful nonetheless.

Can't argue about Three Floyds.

Someone send me a Dreadnaught!

I had a Dreadnaught Fri nite, is definitely in my 2nd favorite. Bells "Hopslam" is out now and my favorite, too bad its not available year round.

I don't know if you remember ytsejam but last year about this time I mentioned drinking a Bells Expedition stout and you recommended cellaring for a year. I did and much preferred it over a fresh one. I could imagine cellaring this one for a few more years, yum.

I gotta try to find another expedition. That and Avery Mephistopheles.

They do age nicely. Not so "hot" after some good cellar time.

Hopslam is good but I don't know if I can choose any beer over Dreadnaught.

Met Nick Floyd at Dark Lord Day a few years back, I was sure to thank him for his wonderful work.

Just came back from Wisconsin with some New Glarus... I love that stuff: Fat Squirrel, Spotted Cow and and an IPA were all sampled while I was over the border.

Big fan of Spotted Cow. If you bored in Miwaukee we did the Spiegel tour and brought home a case of 16 oz bottles in various varieties that lasted a while, it was excellent. All their bottle come in 16 because that's the way Europe does them and that's what insprired the original owner when he came back from the war.

The just recently started 12 oz bottles and they have great root beer and soda. The root beer started as an off shoot of the brewery as he made it for the kids when the parents came in and it has become half their business or something like that. It's awesome. I don't find it much down here. the booze or the root beer.

Don't you mean Sprechter?

My favorite offering from New Glarus is "Moon Man"

****.... yeah sprecher... that's the one. We went to a brewers game and they said don't get crappy beer somewhere get growlers and take them. And we were like... GENIUS. They even gave us some plastic cups to drink out of. Very awesome. Did the beer and cheese pairing tour for like 10 bucks which was a lot nicer than you'd think it was, great cheeses which they also sell there, and we got to keep the tasting glass.

The cheese shop I was in didn't have anymore Moon Man - I wanted to try that one.

I was wondering if it was Sprechers - big fan of their soft drinks but have yet to try one of their beers. I'll have to remember that on my next trip to the Mars Cheese Castle.

Hard to remember names sometimes whilst having a fine brew, even when drinking said brew from plastic cup.

Had a Bell's Hopslam this weekend. Phew... at 10%, that'll make you a little fuzzy after a couple. Love the Imperial IPA's!

Also tried Lagunitas Chicago Fusion Ale which was very tasty, too.

If you haven't discovered it yet, www.beermenu.com is a great site for finding out if any local bars/liquor stores carry your favorite beer...

I can't get into strong IPAs but Hopslam is good as a change of pace on occasion. Lagunitas I've had plenty, but Chicago Fusion Ale? I didn't even know there was such a thing.

One of my favorite beers is Lagunitas' Lil' Sumpin' Sumpin' - the Chicago Fusion Ale is a new beer to commemorate some beer conference being held in Chicago this year.

Thought I would revive this thread. Just got back from Three Floyds brewery. It was incredible, honestly I had the best beer I've ever had there: Arctic Panzer Wolf. I started with that, along the way I tried Zombie Dust, Live Life, and Dreadnaught -- ate the pulled pork which was pretty good. I wasn't disappointed with a single beer. Obviously from that selection you can tell I love IPA's.

What brewery should I hit up next? I've already been to Revolution (which was amazing) and Goose Island (which was good, but slightly disappointed with the food, thought it would be better).

The three you mentioned from Three Floyds are on my top 5 favorites list. Half Acre on Lincoln is solid ( Daisy Cutter ). Piece, I think its on North is good and great pizza. If you ever make it into Wisconsin, New Glarus Double IPA and Moon Man are both excellent. Another one you would probably like is Founders Double Trouble.

Cheers
