Williams >>>>> Hendry. Williams is arguably top 5 GM in baseball, espcially given the budget he has to work with.

He has the highest payroll in a weak division and can't even win it.

GTFO.

Yes I do.

Then you would be wrong. As stated, the issue isn't that they took cash. The issue is that they didn't have enough scouting ability to see what Hamilton had.

Yes, that sums up Jim Hendry nicely. Tigers, Twins, and White Sox are better teams then any NL Central team.

That still doesn't mean Williams is a good GM.

Lulz at listing the White Sox. Kenny isn't competing against himself.

Kenny Williams has the highest payroll in the division by a pretty large margin and his last division title had to be won over the Twins in a one game playoff.

:turrible:

Calling Williams a top 5 GM is absurd.

Both him and Hnedry are above average but nothing special.

:obama:

Do you have difficulty getting dressed in the morning? I only ask because it seems from your posts that you would be incapable of anything more complex.

Follow me: The Cubs didn't see what Hamilton would become. So they took cash for him. Therefore it's applicable to blast them for both their lack of foresight as well as actually pulling the trigger for the trade and getting the lofty sum of 100K.

Rush, where do you dig these retards for this site up at?

I realize you name calling is the only way for you to communicate as you haven't moved on intellectually. That's fine. Typical really.

In the last couple of seasons, Detroit has outspent Chicago till this upcoming season.

And neither are winning the division...so what's that say about each GM?

Name the oens that are better. Go ahead. Try to refrain from verbal abuse if you can.

In no order:

Brian Cashman
Theo Epstein
Frank Wren
Dan O'Dowd
Bill Smith
Ruben Amaro
Walt Jocketty
Billy Beane
Brian Sabean

Williams and Hendry are both in the 8 or 9 to 14 range.

Say what you want about some of these guys "having money to spend" but Williams has plenty of money to spend as well and gets less results.

Also, some of the guys on that list are just ranked ahead of them right now.

There are other names that are as respected if not more respected than they are as well. Guys like Kevin Towers, Doug Melvin, Ned Coletti, etc

Like I said. Williams and Hnedry are above average GM's. Nothing special.

Brian Sabean? Brian Sabean? You have got to be fucking kidding me.

This has to be a joke tell me its a joke. You just listed Brian Sabean as a good GM.

And YOU are calling other people retards?

No wonder you can't comprehend why the Josh Hamilton fiasco is nothing.

I can give some examples of JH making good FA signings. Doesnt mean he is good. KW is awful at trades. Just awful.

Ha. Williams couldn't make a trade if his life depended on it.

They are both fairly equal but I would take Hendry's ability to trade over Williams ability to sign FA's.

Though Williams is funny and Hendry is fat but Hendry is definitely a better GM.

KW is far and above the better GM of the two.

You've got to be kidding me! If there is a black mark against Williams, in spite of his World Series ring, its his INABILITY to keep the White Sox competitive in one of the WEAKEST divisions in recent memory. The White Sox should be winning the AL Central every year. The White Sox have the HIGHEST payroll in the AL Central.
Since winning the World Series, the White Sox have made the postseason once in the last five years, and even then they didn't win 90+ games and were immediately eliminated without much of a fight.

In sum, a complete posting failure on your part.

The Weakest Division in recent memory? how bout NL Central, NL West, AL West? also the Tigers have outspent the Sox over the past few years. JH has had the 2nd highest payroll in the NL during the majority of his tenure and has done nothing 0/6 in his last 2 trips to the playoffs

He has the highest payroll in a weak division and can't even win it.

GTFO.

See Above ...

Billy Beane? :lmao:

Well coming from you this isn't shocking but Beane is still a top five GM in the league.

You realize the A's allowed the fewest runs in the AL last year and were just as good according to Pythagorean record as the White Sox right? All this with 56% of the payroll.

If Billy Beane isn't a top 10 or so GM then Kenny Williams isn't even in the top 30.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Toledo Rockets
And neither are winning the division...so what's that say about each GM?

Dumbrowski isn't really all that great.

Williams on the other hand keeps the team competitive to the last month of the season for the most part, he gives the Sox the tools they need year in and year out, he sticks to his end of the bargain, its the team that fails to finish the job, thats more on Ozzie than Kenny.
