Tory Taylor 46.3 avg, Trenton Gill 46.1 avg - What will Bears do with the extra 0.2 yards of field position?

The Bears have picked punters higher than Taylor.

Gardocki was a third round pick.

The jackass known as Todd Sauerbrun was a second rounder.

Both guys performed better for other teams later in their careers.

They still got great value on Booker in the 5th, I think many here would have been fine with him in the 4th where Taylor was taken. So who really cares tbh

I can't wait until he scrambles to the outside to buy time, boots it just before crossing LOS while at full sprint. Aussie rules style.

I think the OP thinks Gill is good.

Or that Taylor sucks.

I wonder which one it is?

There is one concern about Taylor that I came up with while listening to Greg Gabriel, and hopefully someone with punting experience can answer this concern.

Greg talked about how, in college, punters kick much farther than they do in the pros. He said that the reason for this is that in college punters use old, scuffed footballs to punt while in the NFL, they have to use brand new footballs every game, even though the balls are kept separate from all of the other footballs used in the game. Kicking a new football is harder because the new football is actually harder because the leather has not been softened through use.

My concern is not so much about the distance decrease because of the new, harder footballs that punters are going to have to use but rather if there is going to be any loss of control using new footballs every game? Will it affect how well Taylor can place the ball inside the 20 yard line?

I understand that this concern might not be anything because I do not have a ton of experience of punting a football and the little I have was always with an old football.

Can any CCS member answer this?

Some adjust. Some dont.

Yeah, I have no doubt that he was an impact player for a team that averaged 7 points a game. Absolutely.
Their O was so bad that they would punt inside the opponents 40. Kills your average when you combine that with 109 kicks inside the 20 the last 3 years.
He kicked for 4479 yards and netted 4339 which shows he's very good at placing kicks to stay inside the 20.

Or it could be that Gill sucks and some aren’t thrilled with using a 4th on a punter.

Forget all the hang time and net yards bullshit. This guy drops it inside the 20. Gill did not. Period.

Imagine arguing over a punter in the Lord's year 2024.

It's a punter.

He can eat shit.

If he punts well, he can still eat shit.

Because he is a punter.

Odds are he'll wind up dead anyway or have you all forgotten the "greatest punters in NFL history " threads from less than 24 hrs ago.

I swear CCS. Do better.

Goodbye.

Assholes.
